I've talked to techs who have worked at Wal-Mart in the auto service center before... Heard so much shady crap from there I'd be very afraid to have anything done there.

ok, wow, you better not be going over 55mph that those tires are rated at

And also make sure you don't corner hard you just might take off flying, those must be some high quality tires :)

Those of you who know 1BADGSX from Iowa (Jeremy with a red 99 GSX) used to have a NT Stealth before the Eclipse and get used to work at Walmart. He had his tires mounted at a differant walmart and on the drive home his tire fell off on the highay at 65+ mph.

So yeah, Walmart kicks ass. I will buy some boxers and sock there, but I will leave the car shit to those who know it.

i didnt get the tires there. i ordered them from tire rack. i even watched the guy mount and balance them. just to make sure he was doing it right and he did. so if you want to pay $100+ for the same exact service thats your choice. every repair place does some shady stuff. thats why you stand there and watch them. i havent had any problems with them. i had it up to 120mph on the way home from casino a few days ago.

Both my parents and sister have boughten tires from Walmart and had them install them. Neither has had problems. But this was in a small town where you actually still have honest and good employees.

They have machines to do most of it for them...a monkey could be taught to install a tire. Some people are just lazy and half assed no matter where you go.

so in actuality the tires were somewhere in the 100-200 dollar range?

you gotta get the work done for free, i worked at cadillac and had one fo the guys do it after work. took a couple minutes. plus they were ballanced and everything.

Most places charge $10-15 per tire to mount and balance them. It's the tires themselves that cost the money. I go to some of the larger tire places because I also get the road hazard to go with them. With as many miles as I drive being involved with organizing rallys, I need to have that little extra insurance.

So the service that you got was no different than anywhere else as far as price.
