Been working on a little house project myself. It's taken me about a week of work getting it hung from the ceiling, running a gas line and dedicated power to it, now I have to replace a vent fan motor(I got it used). Best part is it's a 100,000 BTU Reznor typically found in a small shop like my old one. This is in a three-car garage, so basically once the heater is hooked up, I can finish the sheetrock and blow insulation up there and it should heat the garage from 30 degrees to 70 degrees in less than 10 minutes.

Nice!!

I personally like my little propane torpedo thing for one reason alone. If I had a badass setup like yours I would use it way too much and my gas bill would go way up, ha.

Looks awesome man!

Thanks guys! Its been alot of work.

The house was supposed to be more of a tan color (according to the sample....) so it might get repainted here in the near future...

Thanks, they are maple cabinets with a "cider" stain, we really like the way it came out.

Sorry, my bad, I meant maple, not cedar. All of the trim in our house is maple with a semi-gloss stain.

Grouted and sealed. only thing left is I have to add some quarter round around a couple of the edges. THink it only cost me about $50 total, which is nothing, but I think it looks great! Can't wait to get the carpet in now!!

Looking good B-man!

I was excited to hear my garage heater fire up for the first time today, sounds like a jet engine warming up. I also timed it, 18 minutes to go from 33 to 60 degrees, I'm stoked. Now to finish the sheetrock and insulation.

Re: House Projects

I should look up what mine takes to run and maintain some heat 3 or 4 days a week. I have a 35k BTU heater and before I insulated the roof of the garage the attic would be about 80deg and the floor about 40deg. Now with 80% of the walls insulated and the attic insulated 100% with only 3" of insulation and a box fan to move air the garage will maintain a balmy 65deg no problem. With a outside air temp of 10 or above it only takes about 1 hour for the temp rise to workable levels, when its below 0 it can take up to 2 hours and the heater runs A LOT more then when its a little warmer out side.

Carpet mod has begun. Kinda upset because they were supposed to do the level shown, and all the stairs today. But decided they could only do this level today, so the stairs are all still bare wood.

But oh well. I love the carpet, so much nicer than the old stuff. I have a couple little discrepencies I'll have to run past him when they come back to finish up. But overall, man what a difference. It's called frizee and the color is called Rocky Road.

Also decided to setup my furniture a hair different than it was before. Here's some pics :)

Nice Halon!. I too just put in new carpet upstairs, in the second and third floors as well. I love it and I also got new large sectional for the 3rd level. My main room to get done now is the 4th level where the home theatre is being constructed! I cant wait until its done.
