Seems like a lot of people reaped some benefits from getting their car up on the dyno though. Baseline numbers and a few bugs fixed up that coudl have been real bad under the wrong WOT moment on the street.
Either way it was a fun day, and we currently hold the record for the amount of cars on LSE's dyno in 1 day. 16 with their EVO ;) LOL. I'm including that one. I want to give BIG props to both LSE and DB for having us for a few Dyno Days this year. It's really been an impressive year when you think about it. We had 3 Dyno Events packed into just a few short months and they all ended up going pretty well. We tried something different at each event and over this winter we will work out a plan of actions to use everything that worked the best. |

The vanos seemed ok on the runs this time. The torque curve went up from 3k-5500 and thats the normal vanos curve. Not sure what was up with the last dyno event. |

My take on it.
Although there were many cars that had issues, it was a learning experience for many owners. That is the point of going to the dyno. You really need to find out where your car is. Some come for baselines, some come for advice, and some come to show finished cars. Saturday seemed to be more of a learning experience. Although that makes it slower on our end, we really like to help and in the end it isn't a big deal. |

I put in the night before the DSMLINK and PTE 880cc injectors and walbro 255lph fuel pump and I rewired it with the rely. Did some midnight tuning to get it running. Right after the dyno I fixed a few issues and it pulled nice and clean on the street. Just made it super rich and pulled some timing but spark was still getting blown away so I gapped them down more and it pull fine until CEL came on since I set dsmlink to turn on the CEL if it knocked. I need to get colder plugs too. I might run water injection after getting the Quartermaster twin disc clutch and getting it in and etc stuff to be able to max out the turbo. There goes the tranny or the engine...lol... Then getting Dog Box and build a 6-bolt and maybe a bigger turbo If you are not breaking parts.... You are not going fast enough.... |

Sorry, but I'll spare you parts if I have it.

Ah, it's ok. I guess you better build that motor. You just save up a stock-pile of dough to do everything at once?

I'm much too impatient and rather fix issues as they come up than have long 6+ months down times. More money spent, oh well... |
Re: DSMStyle.com Fall Closer/Dyno Day - Saturday September 30th, 2006
Honestly, there is a lot more to max that turbo out then what you have. Why did you get a quartermaster twin disc? I mean, I'm not knocking it at all, But did someone tell you that you needed all this stuff, and so you bought it? Just curious.

Assurance
No one told me but a matter of fact alot of people try to purposely feed me wrong information since I look like a noob and they feel intimidated. I nod my head and say okay whatever. Well looking at the map for that turbo it'll get maxed out soon if I want to pass my goals. Quote:

Well, I guess good luck. I don't look down on newbs. I know you're still learning. Hell, I am too! everyone started at the newb level, and there are those pricks even on these boards that I put up with along the way, but now I can sit there, and know I know my car, inside and out, cause I built it. And, with better parts then anything they've ever had. You will learn what's really needed, and what's not. If you want a twin-disc, then get it. 'nuff said. I personally couldn't stand the rattling of it on my daily-driven dsm. a single disc or 6-puck holds just as much power, just fine. But, that's my personal tastes.

Chatter don't bother me much but my wife might...lol..
Don't worry when I get a 6-bolt built (some day) it's going to be done right. AEM too FTW! This thing is just to keep me happy for now or how ever long it lasts and for learning. |
