You want to charge me a $200 tax for owning my AR? Kiss my ass bitch! I can't even sell the thing if this passes, I just pay the tax or lose my gun. I don't see any way this passes.

Nice! I was wondering how the availability of the "assault rifles" big brothers would be. They have a bunch of them?

Re: The Gun Thread

AR are available, but the pricing is inflated. DPMS for example is costing way more than it should. I know a guy who built a very nice custom AR and the original buyer backed out. If i had $3500 to spend on a gun I'd buy it, but I don't need something like that. I'll end up getting something a bit more basic and yes I'll over spend for it, but I'll have it. The bigger issues is mags and getting ammo.

This is why I love having a .22 as I can still fire it off without spending a shit ton. When I do get a reg AR I'll likely get something that is converted to .22 as well so I can save ammo on it or is set up for 9mm which is more available.

Re: The Gun Thread

I actually pulled the trigger on the purchase about three days after the psycho went into that school. I traded a guy my Polaris xlt (I dropped an 800 triple into it) for the AR, a handgun, ammo, and cases. I wanted a new deer rifle and figured it may be the only time I can own this style -I hope I'm wrong. I've been keeping an eye on Cabellas gun library and they were down to only one AR in the country! Part of me believes they are scared to list these online, but who knows.

Yeah, mags are going nuts. I wanted to pick up a bigger mag for my 10/22. The Ruger BX-25's were $20 each a month ago, now they are $150+!! It is nuts. I can't even find any of the steel lips mags. I guess I will have to stick with the 10 round stockers for now. I am going to be looking for a compact 9mm this week and a .22 pistol.

Glad my dad stocked up 10/22 mags on black Friday!

Just bought a CZ 700 rifle in .308, now I just need to find a long range to test it out. Also need to buy a bunch of ammo for it.

You can still order up the BX-25s for regular cost at shopruger.com. Yes they are on back order from suppliers, but they will be available again soon. Spending more than $30 on one of those is redonkulous. Brownells also carrys (also on back order) good mags for the 10/22, actually some say it's higher quality than Ruger and they have the speed strips.

I used a 30 round champion mag this weekend, pile of plastic shit wouldn't feed so i chucked it.

Side note, you can also buy those 3 to 10round adaprters for the 10/22. Allows you to have 3 ten round mags loaded and attached to the gun. So another way to have 30 rounds on tap.

I also picked up my carry gun this weekend. A nice LC9. I was going to spend money next on an AR, just don't want to overpay right now and honestly, I don't think they will full ban the guns right now. I'll take that chance for now and just buy PMags and ammo every now and then (can use with my dad's AR as well).

Well, I ordered 3 BX-25 mags off of shopruger.com. I will see if I get them any time soon :D That LC9 looks pretty nice for a carry weapon, very small and light. The SR9c is on the list of ones I am looking at. Are you going to be taking a CC class soon AJ?

Yeah, plan to sometime in Feb through one of the guys at Arnzen. Need to get the aim dialed in a bit as it's a bit different due to the trigger pull. I fired off Polish's 1911 and the grouping was much better with that gun than my LC9, but the trigger on the LC9 is a harder pull. I like that, just not used to it.

You can order them all over yet, just gotta wait till they are in stock. Or if you want to pay up, hit up gunbroker.com and bid away...

Sadly I did this to make sure I get a few(gunbroker). I split them with my brother, I am taking two and he is taking two. Got them for like 45 a piece. Expensive yes but now with 3 mags I think I should be good for a long while with the amount I will use everything, I will probably grab a few more if they get back in stock places.

Zombie invasion, gotta be ready!

Guns last forever if properly maintained, I plan to have mine forever assuming the gov't doesn't try to take it away, in which case I might need it :)

Great stress reliever too, going to the range instantly makes me smile. Perfect as I don't have my car routine to keep me busy in winter, now I can go to the range. Plus I have been looking for a new hobby.

I'll be hitting Bills up tomorrow for some AR, 1911, 9mm, and .22lr fun. Working on the new rail system for my Ruger 22 now and picked up some different 9mm ammo to see how the LC9 treats it.

Now I just finished my new pmag modifications...

http://i826.photobucket.com/albums/z...FORUM/mags.jpg

If I don't do this the mag release gets pushed up some and hits the bolt catch and possibly the bolt and causes wear. So I dremeled both my new ones out tonight and now they are golden.

They might try to do a 50 percent tax on ammo. Gun control aint going to stop people from killing other people. Take all the guns away and that wont stop anything. Going to get my paper work today so I can buy a couple hand guns. Would like to buy a ar15 but iam sure they are all gone.

Re: The Gun Thread

Lots of AR's out there still. I can't find the Ruger SR9c in stock anywhere so I can check it out. I am on a couple of waiting lists now. I went to Bill's Tuesday night after work and it was insane in there. Had to be 20 people looking at guns and 2 sales people. I left after I got on the waiting list and went to Fleet Farm up the road and got put on their list too :D

For the permit it has an area for the gun dealer, do you have to fill that out or is that only if the gun dealer is filling out the paperwork for you? I don't want to be limited to one gun shop.

Probably just target and shooting varmints in rural SW Iowa. Only a few counties in southernmost Iowa have a rifle season for deer.

With the ar should I go .223 or .308? I dont plan on hunting with it just some target shooting and for dooms day.
