Re: Project Lex
Which gas station is that? Is it blaine?
Needs E85... |
Re: Project Lex
Regardless of a blatant lack of corn, I approve of that last update.
|
Re: Project Lex
Very cool! I wanna see this in person! I'm jealous and still want one, I just don't want to do the work.

I should've clarified that in my post. But corn is recommended obviously. |

I bet he could snake one to behind the pass. headlight. But a giant hole in the hood would be way cooler. :)

Re: Project Lex
Car looks pretty damn clean. Would you recommend them to others for the detail? I was going to get the evo a full detail when I get it back and have thought about using them before, I have heard mixed reviews though from some saying they didn't really do anything worth the money that they charge but not from anyone I really trust.
Yours looks clean for sure though but I don't really have a comparison since I haven't looked at yours enough before. Regardless, nice update! |
Re: Project Lex
Spring my ass, lets get this thing going, just needs fuel mods and then dyno time!!
Car felt gorgeous last night, I think I'm gonna get all my rides done. |
Re: Project Lex
While disassembling to do the injectors and AFPR, I quick did a compression test.
1 - 210 2 - 210 3 - 210 4 - 200 5 - 175 6 - 200 Cyl 5 might be part of the reason we saw so much smoke in that video I posted... But still seems good enough to let er buck for a little while Started on the fuel system. Got the injector clip pigtails soldered in in-place of the stock clips. Then installed the injectors. Decided to install my AEM AFPR since I was right there. I had a spare -6 to M12 x 1.5 fitting laying around. Found the hole where the stock FPR was mounted accepts an M12 tap pretty much perfectly as-is without drilling the hole any larger. So I tapped it and installed the fitting. The AEM AFPR inlet ports are made to screw into a -6AN fitting. So I mounted it right to the fitting on the fuel rail. Nice and simple/clean, I really liked it! Just didn't like the way it pointed. So I tried to turn the fitting a little bit more. Oops, snapped the fitting :( I was able to extract it so no real harm. I ordered some replacement fittings from Summit that arrived today. So I finished up the install today. I'm pretty happy with how simple of a setup it is. Next I need to get the car running on the new injectors, and set the base FP with the new AFPR. Then install the dual 255hp pumps, get it half-way dialed in, then take it to Shane at DB Performance to get it tuned on the dyno at around 15psi levels for now. :D Anyhow, on to some pics of the injector/AFPR install: Tinning the pigtails: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/atta...0-imag0464.jpg All pigtails soldered/heat shrunk in place: http://www.clublexus.com/forums/atta...0-imag0466.jpg Tapping fuel rail for M12 x 1.5 fitting (if I were to do this again, I would have done 3/8npt) http://www.clublexus.com/forums/atta...0-imag0470.jpg Fuel rail tapped http://www.clublexus.com/forums/atta...0-imag0472.jpg Fitting installed. You can see the blue fitting is the M6x1.5 for the Fuel Feed. The silver one is the spare one I had laying around and is being used for the return end http://www.clublexus.com/forums/atta...0-imag0474.jpg Injectors and fuel rail installed. Again, big thanks to Shane at DB Performance for helping me pick these injectors out, and getting the correct ones on the first try for this car, and the great price! http://www.clublexus.com/forums/atta...0-imag0475.jpg New set of BCPR7ES plugs http://www.clublexus.com/forums/atta...0-imag0476.jpg AFPR wasn't in the exact angle I wanted so I tried turning it a little more, Ooops :( http://www.clublexus.com/forums/atta...0-imag0479.jpg Easy out to save the day :) http://www.clublexus.com/forums/atta...0-imag0480.jpg Purchased a new bunch of fittings from Summit (didn't take pics of it all though). Ended up using the same blue Earls fitting for the return as I had on the feed (I like the oring it comes with). AEM AFPR installed with Turbosmart gauge. I love the stealth black look :) Big thanks again to MAPerformance for the great price on the AFPR setup :D http://www.clublexus.com/forums/atta...0-imag0500.jpg Hard to see, but I simply used a 3/8" male-male barbed fitting to extend the stock rubber return hose to reach the new AFPR http://www.clublexus.com/forums/atta...0-imag0498.jpg http://www.clublexus.com/forums/atta...0-imag0501.jpg All done :) http://www.clublexus.com/forums/atta...0-imag0503.jpg |
Re: Project Lex
FUcking Awesome!!!!!
Those are some nice ass wire strippers d0g! It's so close. |
Re: Project Lex
I have a soft spot for these cars, so win in my book. Needs lots more tire in the back and it would be perfect for me. They swap ls1's in these pretty easily..

Your CEL is on, better get that checked out at Autozone.

Re: Project Lex
Looking good man! How close are you to bringing it to shane?
|
Re: Project Lex
Bad ass! When's the maiden voyage?
Are you going straight to E85 or are you getting it tuned on pump gas first? |
Re: Project Lex
Haven't decided on switching to e85 yet or not.
Got a little bit motivated in the wee hours of the night. Since I'm only running low boost for now, decided to install just a single 255hp in an attempt to "hurry up" and get this thing back on the road and tuned before winter. Will install the 2nd one in parallel this winter. http://www.clublexus.com/forums/atta...0-imag0515.jpg |
Re: Project Lex
Good work B! Its coming along!
