Re: The Gun Thread
Just wondering is my MAK90 legal up there? I know in some states it's illegal to own them.
|
Re: The Gun Thread
Yep, just picked up a juicy MAK-90 slant cut at the local pawn shop for a good price
|
Re: The Gun Thread
Brian, got any thoughts on pawn shops that are good to go to to look around, gun wise?
Also, I'm not far from Bills so I try to get there more often, but there are a few key times where it is less of a wait. Right when the open, 1130/noon, and 2ish seem to be fairly key for little wait for me recently. That being said, if you go with buddies often or people here, grab a gold membership, you get all the range time included in that price, and next open lane regardless of wait. |

While I can't give up my honey hole I will say that there are a few decent ones in and around Anoka. Richfield pawn N Gun used to be pretty good.
The trick with the pawnshops is to stop in every few days to see whats new and build a rapport with the owner |

But considering what shitty I.O. and CAI Kalashnikovs are selling for in the last month I did alright :D |
Re: The Gun Thread
nice that's not a bad price considering that the run on these style guns I would've thought the price would have been a lot higher you got a good deal
|
Re: The Gun Thread
Been buying/selling and pawning with him for a few years. He took it in before all this mess on pawn and gave me a heads up. I convinced him to give me a close price to what he told me 2 months ago. Also convinced him that the slant cut was still much less desireable

Re: The Gun Thread

Looks like most of us are going to be felons or loosing our toys soon
https://www.revisor.mn.gov/bin/bldbi...l&session=ls88 https://www.revisor.mn.gov/bin/bldbi...l&session=ls88 Contact your state reps and tell them you oppose these bills. Complete and utter bullshit! http://www.ruger.com/micros/advocacy/takeAction.html |
Re: The Gun Thread
Email sent via Ruger link. That is a pure BS law. We are supposed to surrender our weapons and magazines and not even get any compensation?? How can that be legal?
|

I dont understand how this law would ever pass, but if it does, somehow, someway, if you have purchased an AR style rifle or large capacity magazines before Feb 1st 2013 you will be grandfathered in as long as you have legally registered it and do not transfer or sell them to anyone. Then you can legally possess it and use it. I highly doubt they will get anywhere with it. I sure as hell hope not at least! |
Re: The Gun Thread
This bill could make every ruger 10/22 owner in the state a felon!
Almost every gun made nowadays holds more than 7rds |

And registration is the 1st step towards confiscation |
Re: The Gun Thread
Yeah I just read the magazine statute. I saw it on the Assault Weapon Ban #241. It only says Assault Rifles purchased before 2.1.2013. Read it wrong and thought that included magazines until I read #243 that prohibits large capacity magazines.
|
Re: The Gun Thread
Someone is going to go on a shooting rampage with 100 - 7rd clips and then we will be forced to surrender those rendering our ARs to single shot rifles.
So fucking bullshit. I dont know how this would even pass. So many people are for the 2nd amendment. How can they change that legally. Fuckers! |
Re: The Gun Thread
I really don't think it can pass, but seriously glad I don't live in MN anymore.
Edit: Also, the bill excludes .22 mags, no need to worry about the plinkers :jackoff: |
Re: The Gun Thread

And the only .22's that are exempt from 7rds are tube fed guns |

Google NY SAFE. The scary thing is, SAFE already passed. They pushed it through in 20 minutes. The federal awb Diane Frankenstein bill already has 20 cosponsors! Two of them are Klobuchar and Franken. I sure hope everyone who cares is emailing, snail mailing and calling their reps. |

I just sent mine using the ruger link
|
Re: The Gun Thread
On a good note I just got my three BX-25 magazines for my 10/22 that I ordered! :D These laws are going to start pushing people too far and somebody is going to go off soon. The down side is that they will use that for even stricter gun laws. I can see things getting very messy.
|
Re: The Gun Thread
Email sent as well.
|
Re: The Gun Thread
I agree jet. They are pushing this way to far. they should do better back ground checks. Thats the fucking problem. I think before you can buy a gun they should make you take a class Like gun saftey class. If you buy a gun you should have a place to look it up or a way to lock the gun. Tired of stupid people wrecking shit for other people.

Better background checks on FFL transfers makes sense. Mandatory FFL transfers on private sales doesn't. |
Re: The Gun Thread
Even if this shit passes, who is going to give up their magazines? Honestly...
Who will give up their rifles?... I sure as hell am not giving up shit! No Sheriffs department is going to get a warrant for each and every house in your town/city and go searching door to door. Sure, you cant go to a public shooting range with a high capacity magazine. My family has a shit load of land and we have already started to make a berm last year. All of you guys are more then welcome to come shoot your illegal shit on my land! Fuck em! |

That basically makes my 9mm a paper weight. |
Re: The Gun Thread
Where does it say anything about hand guns and the capacity of their magazines... It was talking about rifles.
My self defense guns are a .40 Glock and a Remington tactical 12ga. I dont just keep a loaded AR next to my bed at night, although the thought has crossed my mind. hahaha |

Just re-read that section and it does look like tube fed .22 are exempt, but not magazine type (sorry 10/22 guys). Looks like even my 10 rd mag on my bolt action would be illegal. |
