no AR was even used in the shooting.... Fuck you Obama

I saw this already on a "conspiracy" type video where they showed them grabbing the AR from the trunk. Glad they finally admit they didn't use it actually. It's bullshit though, as the govt wouldn't have admitted this in the past before the internet as no one would've had so much video evidence to make them admit this so they would've used it to ban AR's. Now what the fuck do they have? NO AR used, they going to ban pistols? It goes to show that crazy people need to be stopped not a specific type of weapon. sigh, damn you obama.

Just wondering is my MAK90 legal up there? I know in some states it's illegal to own them.

Yep, just picked up a juicy MAK-90 slant cut at the local pawn shop for a good price

Brian, got any thoughts on pawn shops that are good to go to to look around, gun wise?

Also, I'm not far from Bills so I try to get there more often, but there are a few key times where it is less of a wait. Right when the open, 1130/noon, and 2ish seem to be fairly key for little wait for me recently.

That being said, if you go with buddies often or people here, grab a gold membership, you get all the range time included in that price, and next open lane regardless of wait.

if you don't mind me asking how much did you pay I've bought mine about 5 years ago and paid 300 for it here in Texas

While I can't give up my honey hole I will say that there are a few decent ones in and around Anoka. Richfield pawn N Gun used to be pretty good.

The trick with the pawnshops is to stop in every few days to see whats new and build a rapport with the owner

$500 in the box and looks damn near unfired.

But considering what shitty I.O. and CAI Kalashnikovs are selling for in the last month I did alright :D

Re: The Gun Thread

nice that's not a bad price considering that the run on these style guns I would've thought the price would have been a lot higher you got a good deal

Been buying/selling and pawning with him for a few years. He took it in before all this mess on pawn and gave me a heads up. I convinced him to give me a close price to what he told me 2 months ago. Also convinced him that the slant cut was still much less desireable

I went to the fleet farm last night after I left Goodharts, they didn't have squat, everything was sold out. Didn't look for a saiga though.

Email sent via Ruger link. That is a pure BS law. We are supposed to surrender our weapons and magazines and not even get any compensation?? How can that be legal?

I dont understand how this law would ever pass, but if it does, somehow, someway, if you have purchased an AR style rifle or large capacity magazines before Feb 1st 2013 you will be grandfathered in as long as you have legally registered it and do not transfer or sell them to anyone. Then you can legally possess it and use it.

I highly doubt they will get anywhere with it. I sure as hell hope not at least!

This bill could make every ruger 10/22 owner in the state a felon!

Almost every gun made nowadays holds more than 7rds

Where did you read this? It states high capacity magazines must be removed from the state or destroyed. No registration for magazines. Have fun finding a mag for your AR that holds 7 rounds or less

And registration is the 1st step towards confiscation

EclipseGST 02-02-2013 03:14 AM

Re: The Gun Thread

Yeah I just read the magazine statute. I saw it on the Assault Weapon Ban #241. It only says Assault Rifles purchased before 2.1.2013. Read it wrong and thought that included magazines until I read #243 that prohibits large capacity magazines.

Re: The Gun Thread

Someone is going to go on a shooting rampage with 100 - 7rd clips and then we will be forced to surrender those rendering our ARs to single shot rifles.

So fucking bullshit. I dont know how this would even pass. So many people are for the 2nd amendment. How can they change that legally. Fuckers!

I really don't think it can pass, but seriously glad I don't live in MN anymore.
Edit: Also, the bill excludes .22 mags, no need to worry about the plinkers :jackoff:

I sure hope you guys are right on it not passing. This is the harshest gun grap attempt yet in this nation. Remind these people that they will lose their seat if this passes. Although losing my rights for their job is nowhere near a fair trade.

And the only .22's that are exempt from 7rds are tube fed guns

I would love to hear Al Franken tell that to the 32 people that lost their lives at Virginia Tech. I love how uneducated legislators are about guns, but want to regulate them anyway.

Google NY SAFE. The scary thing is, SAFE already passed. They pushed it through in 20 minutes.

The federal awb Diane Frankenstein bill already has 20 cosponsors! Two of them are Klobuchar and Franken.

I sure hope everyone who cares is emailing, snail mailing and calling their reps.

I've called each of them individually, but here is also a very simple way to reach them all at once!

Go to Ruger's website and fill in your information. It will automatically generate a letter to every single representative for your area.

On a good note I just got my three BX-25 magazines for my 10/22 that I ordered! :D These laws are going to start pushing people too far and somebody is going to go off soon. The down side is that they will use that for even stricter gun laws. I can see things getting very messy.

I agree jet. They are pushing this way to far. they should do better back ground checks. Thats the fucking problem. I think before you can buy a gun they should make you take a class Like gun saftey class. If you buy a gun you should have a place to look it up or a way to lock the gun. Tired of stupid people wrecking shit for other people.

And how exactly would a gun safety class stop mass shootings?

Better background checks on FFL transfers makes sense. Mandatory FFL transfers on private sales doesn't.

Even if this shit passes, who is going to give up their magazines? Honestly...

Who will give up their rifles?... I sure as hell am not giving up shit! No Sheriffs department is going to get a warrant for each and every house in your town/city and go searching door to door.

Sure, you cant go to a public shooting range with a high capacity magazine. My family has a shit load of land and we have already started to make a berm last year. All of you guys are more then welcome to come shoot your illegal shit on my land! Fuck em!

But, here's the problem with that. It's highly unlikey that you will be forced to turn in your guns or mags. However, if you use those in a self defense shooting, you did so with an illegally owned weapon and you're now a criminal. This means you could lose your gun rights.

That basically makes my 9mm a paper weight.

Where does it say anything about hand guns and the capacity of their magazines... It was talking about rifles.

My self defense guns are a .40 Glock and a Remington tactical 12ga. I dont just keep a loaded AR next to my bed at night, although the thought has crossed my mind. hahaha

The magazine section does not specify rifle or handgun, it appears to cover both.

Just re-read that section and it does look like tube fed .22 are exempt, but not magazine type (sorry 10/22 guys). Looks like even my 10 rd mag on my bolt action would be illegal.

All it would take is a phone call from a disgruntled neighbor or girlfriend and you'd be looking at 15 years in pound me in tha ass prison if caught with an unregistered weapon or banned mag. Mag ban does indeed cover handguns as well

If registered you would need to renew your permit every year $$$ and submit to proper storage checks at the whim of your local CLEO
