Think long and hard about that one. You may not be able to legally buy one again.

I understand that, its why I am not fully decided yet.

That was the whole reason I bought my dream AR instead of something like a DPMS to start with.

But now that I have it, its truly awesome, but I just don't know that I can justify having that much in a gun that gets used once a month. Ammo is hard to find, the range is always busy, and if I find ammo its pricey as shit.

If I hunted with it I think i would love it more but I am using it for plinking (bad idea, should've gotten a 22 for that) and fun shooting up north and semi for home defense.

Anyway, still just a thought at this point.

It was semi impulse, maybe 75% lol.

But I won't lose much money on it which was one comforting factor when I bought it. Assuming I sell soon though because if I don't sell soon it could drop way down in price when stock goes up.

It sounds like you understand that not being able to find normal priced ammo is just a fad. This should be over with by next December. Whether it's from production being ramped up (more factories, manufacturers are already on 24x7 days) or clowns stop buying ridiculous prices from the gougers. All that really needs to happen is just that. Then the gougers will be stuck with the crap they're trying to sell and everyone will get fair priced stuff again. It's sad that a majority of people don't understand that (not saying you don't).

Trying to quantify a reason to keep the gun shouldn't come from how often it gets used. You bought it knowing the political climate. It's still just how it was when you bought it. Bills are being brought up, some get thrown out. New ones replace the old ones. It likely won't end until '16 or something finally passes.

But if you really are in a pinch, not just thinking of hobbies, nobody can argue if you do choose to sell it.

Picked this up at cabelas on sunday. Shot 50 rounds through it yesterday but now I can't find anymore ammo haha. Was just looking for a nice starter 1911 and this seemed to fit the bill.

Dicks in MG had it when I was there yesterday, but it's the $1 a round shit. Finding anything else for the range, like the brass federal stuff is really tuff to get. You can find ammo, it's just the price.

http://www.bulkammo.com/bulk-223-amm...m855lcity-1000

If you need some, it's something I won't pay per round, but it's at least ammo. I have some good rounds for hunting and such, and a box of 500 556 on the way at about 50 cents a round I found earlier this week, federal brass, but that's about the top of what I'll pay and honestly that's plenty to get me through range fun all summer and fall with my AR when it's finally done. Just waiting on my barrel now.

Dad went to the gunshow yesterday, picked up a shitload of .223 for $13/box. Everyone else was asking $19/box. He got a couple hundred rounds.

Also, if anyone is in the area, the gun shop in Isle up by Mille Lacs is selling 5.56 and .223 for $12/box.

Re: The Gun Thread

I am sitting ok on .223, but wouldn't mind picking up a few hundred more rounds. The 9mm is what I really need. I just need some range ammo to break in the new gun and don't want to pay anywhere near $1/round.

So AJ, I guess I am heading over to your place Saturday, want to head to the range for a bit?

actually probably not. A sat at Bills is just a fucking mess lately. If I had my AR by then sure, but otherwise I'm good.

ammotogo.com has 9mm for $.36/rd! 900 rounds for $320. I just ordered some up. It is steel case and berdan primed, but has great reviews on cheaper than dirt. It is Tula 9mm.

That gunshow was packed! So badly wanted to buy the brand new DSA SA58 (FAL) para congo some guy had, slightly marked up. Beautiful. Drool.

I also regret not gettting the HK94/MP5 pistol clone someone had for under $1000... no it wasnt a lame .22 it was legit 9mm. Sex. Even has problematic as the clones are I'd have been willing to fix it up. Damnit.

I just got a new gun too, picked it up today! My first carry pistol, a stainless Ruger SR9c. Has a 17 round mag with a grip extension and a 10 round. I really like that it has a true safety on it. Nicely weighted too, can't wait to give it a go. 900 rounds will be here Monday :D

Re: The Gun Thread

Finally got around to shooting my CZ 700 I got back in January. Shot at 200 yds since that is how long the range is, and I was pretty happy with a 2" group my first time out. Found two problems though, the height adjustment on the scope isn't working right, and the extractor is a little worn down so it doesn't kick the shells out correctly every time you pull the bolt back. Hopefully easy fixes, but overall pretty happy about the accuracy.

Edit: the 2" group was with .308 Winchester Ranger Match which uses the Sierra Match King 168gr bullet. I didn't get a chance to try out my mil surplus 7.62 ammo yet.

Re: The Gun Thread

Greetings pervayers of punishment, time for another gun installment.

Picked up this puppy for xmas over a year ago. My brother-in-law bought it for me to make my wife mad. It sat dormant since then (much like Excalibur) except for the occasional defense from the CS-18 I had posted earlier in this thread but always fell short.

http://www.scheides.com/albums/nerf/...loy1.sized.jpg

It's a CS-6 deploy. Strapped to my side it is folded up and inconspicuous (lol) and then with the flick of a button, boom!

http://www.scheides.com/albums/nerf/...loy2.sized.jpg

Laser sight and all! Bored recently I found the next level of nerdery awesomeness--upgraded plunger swings! These were on clearance online for $3. Wahoo!

http://www.scheides.com/albums/nerf/...loy3.sized.jpg

They are 5KG springs, stocker is 2-2.5KG.

http://www.scheides.com/albums/nerf/...loy4.sized.jpg

All installed!
http://www.scheides.com/albums/nerf/...loy5.sized.jpg

Drilled out the air restricter while I had the gun apart:
http://www.scheides.com/albums/nerf/...loy6.sized.jpg

This thing fires like you would not believe now. I've fired it off plenty of times in the house before this, but my wife was legit hiding from me while I was test firing the new setup because--as she put it: 'I don't want to die.'

Hey Guys, Today I picked up a mossberg 715t, .22LR, 25 round. #$299 at Joe's in Roseville.

Cheap red dot I had laying around.

Bought 1100 rds at fleet farm today, hope to shoot this thing soon, What range do you guys zero your red-dot's in at?

where the fuck did you find 1100 rounds in stock and be able to buy 1100 rounds even at, lol. How does the gun feel, got any weight to it?

Re: The Gun Thread

That's just two boxes of bulk, they usually have 500-600 per box. I didn't think .22 was out of stock like the centerfire stuff, maybe just in the twin cities I guess.

89_Colt_GT 04-02-2013 11:48 PM

Re: The Gun Thread

fleet farm, luckily I had my mom with me to buy the 2nd box. it feels solid when you shake it, besides the collapsible stock. not too heavy, but not light like an airsoft.

.22lr is just as hard to get as anything else for a good price per round.

Paid 23$ for 325 .22 rounds on my way to cross lake.

Reeds, Wal-Mart, fleetfarm and most stores were sold out. Luckily found a mom n pop shop that had some. Crazy how scarce rounds are . Especially 22! :angryfire:

Things are starting to turn around now, tons more ammo available on GunBot lately. I am going to let prices come back down in a month or so and stock up on some .223. There is speculation out there that the democrats are going to try and raise the taxes on ammo now and try to control things that way.
