Very awesome, John. I'm glad you have it running.

Re: 91 Galant VR4

This was done with the 4 1600's as the primarys, and no secondary injectors were used. The EMS is not the issue, I tried another EMS and still no #8 injector, so they either need to wired up in a batch fire or I found 2 EMS's that will not run 8 injectors. The boost on WG pressure was 25psi, the 635 run was at 37psi. I am reving to 9500rpm, with how the power is still going up I could rev higher but I am at 90 some % duty cycle on the 1600's and I loose about 6psi of fuel pressure by redline. The intake air temps would only go up about 9deg over the run, but after a few back to back runs the temps would start at 120deg, so we added ice to get that down below 100 before the start of the run. I will see how it does on the street/track IAT wise. Coolant temps were nice and rock solid. The ramp rate was set to 100 and the AM2 correction was around 3-4% most of the night.

DO you have a number you are shooting for?

Re: 91 Galant VR4

I was looking for about 600whp to start, get the chassis setup and find a way to make the hp usable.

I plan to set up the chassis the rest of this year and into next year, then when I have run as fast as I can with this power, figure out a way to make more.

Which will be getting the secondary injectors working, E98, and a boost a pump or something. I think the setup on good fuel, a lot of boost, and a little nitrous could make a little over 800whp.

Re: 91 Galant VR4

A dude on Link made made 832awhp 567tq at 38-39psi and 13* of timing peak, boost only 2.0L on E85.

Was that on a heart breaker dyno though?

Glad to see the car running John! Makes me wish I kept my car.

Sorry to rain on the parade, but I was expecting a lot more out of your setup. Didn't you make more when you had it running at the last shop?

Re: 91 Galant VR4

610 was all it made last time, and it was a short un usable power band. That was on c-16 and a little more boost then I am running now.

I know its not crazy power, there are stock bottom end cars close to what my setup made.

I can only hope some track time will show what the car is capable of, a dyno number is just that, a number.

Re: 91 Galant VR4

It was on a dynojet and that is what the shootout numbers are supposed to represent.

As a non-hater of JDM john, I was posting the number as a target that he could aim for if he pleased.

I know for me having some kind of a target/info on what the setup is capable of helps me figure out issues/part combos.

I guessed people would take my statement as some kind of hate, but oh well.

You don't have to tell this guy about numbers the only number I care about is the miles on the setup (high) and the number at the track (low), you know this john from tales of the Red and panda express.

Good luck, that car i put numbers from is setup to be for mile racing, but will still get taken to the strip.
If his numbers don't help you, then this will be the last you will here in your thread if not I can keep you updated.

Re: 91 Galant VR4

He isn't that far off. Shootout numbers are closer to SAE Dynojet numbers. STD dynojet numbers are usually 2-4% higher than SAE Dynojet numbers. So add 3% to 740 = 762. then raise the boost 2 psi. 762 + 30whp = 792, then add a degree of timing 792 + 802. Then let everything cool down a lot. 802 + 20 = 822. On high HP cars it's common to see swings of 20-40whp from one run to the next just from heat, a little more or less boost, a little more or less timing, etc. That 832awhp car has put down more on E98 though, but he has been having oil pump problems.

Re: 91 Galant VR4

Aaron I am glad to see what other people are able to do with similar or bigger/smaller setups. I am not on the link forums or any of the places that talk about the Texas mile stuff.

I am happy with how much power the car made, if someone thinks it should make more, then build a car and show me how its done. I will right up a big thank you post in the next couple days, but for now Thanks to Ryan, Kyle, and DB for staying late and helping me threw the issues we did run into.

those are insane numbers John. I don't even think I can drive a car like that, especially a car that's 600+ whp. insane man. great stuff and even better to see a Galant make that kind of power :D

Those are great numbers John! We all know that there's a lot left in it once you get more pump and better (and or more) injectors. I think it's obvious that this isn't meant to be some dyno queen. Now focus on using this 635whp to run some great times!

Re: 91 Galant VR4

Plenty left in it for power. Get that SOB to the track and make use of that uber light chassis you have.

The car just feels light, and I have hit it 2 times in 2nd, damn this thing should haul the mail when its not spinning to revlimiter, ask Shotgun he knows.

Could it seat 4? hahah. Do you know how light it is with you and without you in it currently?

The car looks great John! I'm glad its working good for you now! It was nice seeing ya tonight for my near fail dyno attempt lol.

Re: 91 Galant VR4

Weighs in at like 2450. Pretty fricken light, I'd say. I can't wait to see this car in more action.

Re: 91 Galant VR4

I will get the car back up in the air and check everything over and switch to the good tires. Setup the shift light and the 2 step.

Rock falls Aug 7/8 is the next test day, I will try to make it out there. Then the next day is Aug 28/29.

The car weighs in at 2450 as swift said, I weigh 185, so it should be around 2600-2650 running down the track. The turbo setup and water to air setup weigh a lot.
