They maxed out the GT42R (big wheel version) at 988 awdwhp, that's why they stepped up. ;)

I am interested in knowing what rods they used.

Their "Stroker kit" on their website says Eagle rods and Ross pistons.

Something tells me that isnt what they are using but I dont know for sure. If so, props to Eagle rods. Not saying they cant handle it, just there are so many horror storys about people not even making 700hp and the rods twist/snap like toothpicks. I know Shane made good power on them without any trouble but I'm interested in knowing if the stroker kit on their site is the same one used in this Evo. Anyone confirm this?

I haven't heard about many Eagle rods breaking. But I don't do on Tuners or Talk. Detonation will break anything also. I know there have been a lot of problems with Crower rods in the Honda motors, not holding together. Eagle told me that the 4 cylinder rods should support 1000HP and the 6 cylinder ones would handle 1500HP.

Wow... Thats nuts. Exactly what I wanted to know. Makes me feel a little better about pushing my motor farther then. :)

Shane uses Eagle rods and of all people he hasn't broken them yet. :)

If Eagle made a clutch or tranny, I am sure I could break them by looking at them wrong.
