I worked very hard for everything I have. Some people here may think I have some kind of trust fund or parents who give me money. I don't. Everything you see on my car or that I have I PAID FOR out of money I earned myself (legally of course). All I'm saying is that it is not fair to tax payers like me and you to have people taking advantange of the system at our expence. |

When I lived in No Hope we were the only people in the building paying rent. Every one else, and I mean everybody, was on section 8. The worst part is they pretty much all drove $35-$50K cars. I'd run into them at the store buying food with stamps then whiping out a stack of 20's & 100's and buying $50 worth of lotto and tobacco. |
Re: Bar's signs called racist.
Welfare is a good thing, if used in moderation. Enes, I can see how some people would think you shouldn't have been on welfare. I mean, it shouldn't be our job to pay for immigrants to survive when they move here. Afterall, we allow them to come here. That is enough isn't it? However, only being on it for a few months is a great example of moderation. You guys seemed to use it only as long as you needed it. If everyone on welfare did that, we would have alot less tax money being wasted. I do not enjoy knowing that a portion of my taxes is paying some lazy fuck on crack to sit at home and do nothing while I work and pay for them to live.
As for the sign, the bitch should go slit her wrists. The owner probably pays a pile of tax money and doesn't appreciate where he knows it's going. Granted, putting up a sign like that won't help shit but it shows that he is not okay with lazy people using welfare for laziness. I respect that. That lady has probably been on welfare the past 2 years and the sign makes her want to kill herself for being pathetic which is where the rant comes from I'm sure. The owner needs to put a sign up near that one "Cry more please, then go fuck yourself if you don't agree with me" |
Re: Bar's signs called racist.
The sign that said "I take a drug test to get a paycheck, what about the welfare check." I bet if the welfare check required a drug test that would solve our welfare problem right there.
Ive never been on welfare, neither have my parents or my grandparents. We have been middle class for as long as i can remember. But my parents worked their asses off making it so that we would never need to be on welfare and we could live good lives. The sign was not racist, the lady in that video needs to open her eyes and get out of "Race Card" mode. The people in the welfare system are not only blacks, and if she is insisting that it is (which by her comments she is) then what are you saying about your own people? Give your people a little more credit. I have many black friends, and they all would laugh at that girl and know how stupid her comments sound. I want to put up signs like that on my property. Im sure that business got a huge outpour of support. |
Re: Bar's signs called racist.
What that lady needs to read is what this man has to say.
I give you Jesse Lee Peterson, the other Jesse. Read his articles and you'll know what I'm talking about. I'm OK with what Enes' family did. What I'm not ok with is how we bring people into this country, give them "up start" money to start their own business which they don't have to pay back. Then make their income from the business tax free for ten years and allow ownership of the business to be transferred to another member of the family which starts the 10 year tax free cycle all over again. I do believe that people deserve help, but when people who are not from this country have it better than those who are, that is wrong. |

Re: Bar's signs called racist.
I think the easiest fix is to put a 6 month limit on welfare. After 6 months you are done, if you are able to work. Also, the amount of money you get shouldn't go up because you have more kids. If you are on welfare and have more kids, it should stay the same. I knew some women in my old hometown that would have kids to get more money and they never did work. The money didn't go towards the kids, they spent it. That is BS.
The way the system is setup is stupid though. Say you get $400 a week on welfare, if you start making $200 a week at a job, then they drop it down to like $100 a week from welfare, so you take home less! If you make $200 a week at a job, they should drop it to like $275 so it gives you incentive to work. |
Re: Bar's signs called racist.
What a dumb negro.
She's lucky they didn't interview me. I would have lined her ass out RIGHT. More people need to get off of their ass and pull their own weight, regardless of race. |
Re: Bar's signs called racist.
Anyone that pays taxes should appreciate that sign and someone excersizing their right to speak freely. I'd like to shake the mans hand that posted that up. After What I saw today at Gerdeau Ameristeel, Inside the factory 130-140degrees and the people don't make the greatest money in the world but they are there everyday working/sweating their asses off to keep food on their tables they do what it takes to make a living. Why can't others. one guy working their said " i'd rather be back in iraq that seemed cold compared to this".

Re: Bar's signs called racist.
Well, How many of you would consider yourselves "norwegian" or "german" or "swedish" or something like that? Were you born in the US? how about your parents? My grandparents like to fly the icelandic flag because my grandpa's grandpa came over here with his family back in the day. I consider myself 100% American and don't hold on to the illusion that I'm "part german, part this and that". I think most of what he puts on the signs are not really harmful, possibly distasteful, but I only have a problem with one that the lady mentioned: We speak english in here.
That's expected I suppose, after all it's in texas and white people hate mexican emigrants there, but did they ever think about people coming over from europe 100 years ago? A lot of them didn't speak english. They'll learn the language eventually, if you give them a chance. Racism, hatred and bigotry will always be around here and everywhere else around the world but the people who try and get away from all that are the ones who are on the moral high ground. I think that bar owner is not one of them. |

With the jobs "we won't do," you're right, we won't do jobs for $5/hr, yet we get all pissed off with "they took our jobs!!!" attitude because the immigrants sure as hell will work for $5 an hour. But that attitude can be contributed to the fact that companies are so fucking money hungry that they'll only pay $5 an hour for you to cook fries while they gross $25,000,000,000 a year in revenue. If they paid maybe $9/hr for that, thus getting the rest of the lazy-ass unemployed bitching Americans to get out a get a job, maybe they'd gross only $20,000,000,000 a year, but I guess because every big business is run by biggots, bastards, and greedy motherfuckers, that $5 billion means just too much. What the fuck would they do with that money other than let it sit in stocks or Swiss bank accounts until they die anyway? I'm against illegal immigration, I think if you wanna live in someone's country that you do it legally like everyone else, and I don't think that there's any argument against that. I mean, let's say we start heading to Mexico, (not that we're going to, but hypothetically) you think that Mexico, much less any other country will let us get away with it? Fuck no!!! But that's another topic and is way too hypothetical to matter as there is no country with an economy, diversity, and market like the U.S, so you can probably just ignore what I said there. As much as I believe that illegal immigration is wrong, I do know that for a FUCKING FACT, ladies and gentlemen, if we we're to kick the immigrants out, it would dent our economy so fucking bad that we would probably go into a depression. |

anyways, i lived in Mexico (illegally) for four years, and my family didnt have any problems. As for illegal immigrants here in the US, i dont really have a problem with it, i say if they are going to work, let em in! I know ALOT of illegal mexicans, and they are ALL very good decent people, they work hard for their money, and they pay taxes too. I dont see what the big deal is, and why everyone gets all angry over illegal immigrants, oh well! I wont understand your point of view, and you wont understand mine, thats just the way it is.... |
Re: Bar's signs called racist.
as far the bar signs, if you dont like what its saying dont go to that bar! and if it really pisses you off that much too even look at it, then just find a new way home so you dont have to drive past it. Seems simple enough to me.
I swear some people just look for reasons to be pissed......oh well! |

Re: Bar's signs called racist.
How are illegal immigrants paying taxes when there is no social security number to pay them to? I grew up in a town of a lot of illegal immigrants (meat packing plant that would rent a bus and bring them up). The adults were usually not too bad, but the kids would steal quite a bit and cause lots of other problems. Overall it is not a good thing. Just pay american's more to do the same job.

Re: Bar's signs called racist.
A friend of mine used to work with some illegals, and he said that they will use other people's ss numbers so they can get jobs at places that require it. He told me that the place he worked at there was a legal immigrant with a legal ss number, but that he let 4 other people use that number so they could get jobs at other places. Seems like a pretty fucked up situation to me.

I wish I could name a recent topic that is actually more important, and I'm sure there are plenty, but I don't have a tv and cnn.com is boring and hard to find in-depth stories. |
