Haha you guys are great! Why don't we organize a Mitsustyle event? Maybe an Auto-x? Road course event? Hell even go-karts...

I tried organizing go-karting twice last summer; 1 person (Scheides) showed up.

^Lol!

You guys' are arguing about auto-x vs. DD vs. drag vs. dyno queens. But, was this not the site/group that organized a "who can go the slowest" (or what ever it was called, sorry) event last spring?

Agh. http://smiliesftw.com/x/fatasssquint2.gif

But that Evo is pretty sweet. I'd still rather have Marks E3.

Re: Evo X: Let the modding begin!

No, we did not do who can go slowest. That was the slow-drags at the All Mitsu Cookout, put on by Curt and MN3/S.

We do the dsm/evo pull-off, who can pull a car the fastest with 2-human-power!

You do that as a competition? Well I need my car moved and it isn't running so if anyone wants to get some early training in, PM me!

I didn't know of any go-kart events last summer. I definatly would have shown up! Go-karts kick ass, and I was thinking of trying to organize something like this as well.

I will take you on in my evo go cart but I would end up getting killed because of the full cage we put in

Thousands!?!?!?!?! As in plural? Maybe if your racing in an ultra competitive class. For what the average person on here is going to be doing they will spend $500-$800 for a weekend. (2 days of track time) That includes track time ($200-400 depending on the track), fuel to get there and back and run on the track and a hotel room for 2 nights. No, I'm not saying it's cheap, but it's much less than your statement implys.

I may have over-exagerated for some areas of the U.S., but I've seen figures around 1000 dollars to drive/haul the car out there, pay to get in, food, hotel cause it's a weekend thing, etc.

I don't speak from experience, maybe Dizzm can chime in more. I'm just relaying what I've read.

Re: Evo X: Let the modding begin!

I'm posting from my experince. I have done four events, I spent about $500, $600, $800 and $550 including a new set of front tires on the last one. First and last were BIR with the Conquest, middle two were Mid America and RA with the Stealth.

scheides 01-04-2008 10:04 AM

Re: Evo X: Let the modding begin!

But the last one at RA you blew up your motor! Don't tell me you got that new motor for $550 ;)

MustGoFaster 01-04-2008 10:29 AM

Re: Evo X: Let the modding begin!

RA was the $800 one (last one with the Stealth). Yeah, you have to spend $ on keeping the car going, but we are talking the weekend itself. Just like every time you go drag racing, or even drive your car for that matter.

That is not a normal expense in any racing event, besides Top Fuel, but I think a weekend for them is a little more then a few grand.

Looks like they've moved the exhaust side of the engine to the rear, and the intake up to the front?
