Re: FP's new HTA86: HTA GT3586R
I'm confused, how different is this wheel from their 88? I mean aren't they just stumbling over their own designs?
I would love to see a larger HTA something in the 75mm-ish flavor, inducer of course. |
Re: FP's new HTA86: HTA GT3586R
The HTA88 is their 37R. The HTA 35R was the 82. This new one is a 86. On the HTA86 they made the compressor side 62mm. The old HTA 3582 wasn't 62mm.

Re: FP's new HTA86: HTA GT3586R
This product is for people already making big power and running fast times in the 10's and even 9's....like you! You have a 9 second dsm right? Otherwise your screen name....well anyways, the point is if you're going fast, you always wanna go faster, and if you can do it w/o sacrificing bottom-end, the part will be worth its weight in gold....even if they charge $500 for this upgrade option, that's $500 for an easy 50whp....you can't touch that dollar-to-horsepower ratio with much anything else when you're already making 500-600whp.

I thought we already had this conversation when my name was DSM10SEC. Doesn't matter either way since when I get this timeslip I prove all of you wrong. In the words of Stephan "bone head". |
Re: FP's new HTA86: HTA GT3586R
Oh, you mean dsm10sec, the flaming douchebag we banned long ago for being a dink, and then he re-signed up under an account with his girlfriend, wrxbabe or something completely silly/stupid like that...she/he acted like a complete tool.
Anyways, I think you just violated one of the big no-no rules, no getting banned and then opening a new account...even if you get away with it for a while (100 posts it looks like)! I hope you enjoyed your stay, please come back and visit in 199-never. KTHXBYE. So, back to the topic at hand! Turbos! |
Re: FP's new HTA86: HTA GT3586R
^lol, owned.
Thats awesome. Turbo looks to be sweet and Scheides your point in your previous point is a great one I think. Thing is most of these people making "comments" on this turbo dont have any use for it, they haven't even touched the potential of their own setups. Like I said this thing is too big for me, the biggest I am going is 50lb/min turbo and thats it, then get everything the way I want it and once the corolla dies its DSM all day everyday. I haven't seen any other reviews or word on this turbo, any clue why FP is bombarding the market like this? My guess is to stay number one. |

Anyhow, cool turbo. If I could do things all over again and start from scratch, I'd be running all FP stuff. |

this turbo looks like it would rock some socks, but i still couldnt stand spooling that late. If it wasnt my DD id think about something like this someday. |
Re: FP's new HTA86: HTA GT3586R
Scheides, when you said it was 500 bucks for 50 horsepower, that's assuming they could recover the other 1500 bucks by selling their used turbo. :D
Anyway, if I were in a position where I was maxed out on a turbo like the situation described in your post, this would definately be a good option without "going bigger" I would think. |
