You think it's awesome in pics, you should see it in action. It's total sex ripping through whatever non-tarmac surface you can think of.

This car is one of the main reasons I photograph the rallyx events, no joke.

yep, appreciate the pics! I'm pretty fast, could be faster but always entertaining to watch lol

Carl's car is pretty badass. Not sure that is the direction I would go if I had an STI, but mad props to you for sure. Best of luck with the Rally Cross this year.

Props on all the work you did to the Subaru.

All I know is that you do take some good pics that I've seen on MNSC.

not IIRA - my car is too "nice" for door to door. last weekend was the mnsubaru ice "race". otherwise I'm planning on getting the car to some WAG ice trials this winter (maybe not if the car has to go under the knife sooner than planned to get the stage rally motor in it)

Let me know if you find them, I'm looking for a set of STI airbags, I forgot I don't need the steering wheel itself.

carlvr4 01-23-2009 02:28 PM

Re: my subaru rally project

well the steering wheel airbag went with the wheel. I can definitely find the passenger side one this weekend - I'll pm you when I locate it

Ha, that was pretty much my guess based on the quality of the build and attention to detail. Makes me want to get out on the lakes and race again.

Any vids of you ripping it up on ice, grass, or snow? Props to an insane build. Dont know many people who would ripp the shit out of their STI just for weekend fun, keep up the very good work.

B.S. in mechanical engineering and a minor in electrical has proved to be pretty useful for working on this thing - there are still some things that are ghetto rigged but it all works! lol

I'm hoping I can do some modding on the gvr4 next year once I'm done with the big expenses on this car (assuming I don't ball it up against a tree at 80mph lol). I don't think it'll get the rally treatment though... (maybe some mudflaps)

Andrew and I needed to mount my terratrip so we went off to the camera store, bought a bar clamp for studio lighting as the base. Then we bent up some brackets.
