Re: Operation panty drop, commence! (New Car)

Thanks peeps!

I have the car sitting in the garage for the next couple days, but it will be rollin on the non snowy days. Sucks Ill have to juggle cars with my dad till spring. Ill be getting winter tires for next season though.

The S-Line package comes with a stiffer suspension, S badges all over, diff steering wheel/trim, and 18" wheels and a bodykitz.

Im just excited to start with something new that doesnt need work, or was modded before.

I found it at burnsville VW. These are hard to find, with a 6 speed. Regular A4's are everywhere though. I ended up in a price range higher than I wanted to be in originally. Considering the car is almost brand new, I got a uber good deal though. Ended up being in the mid 20's after tax/license etc.

S4's come with either a 2.7L Twin turbo (2000-2002) or a 4.2L V8. The S-line is a 2.0T (same motor/turbo as in anna's GLI), so its no monster but should make enough power to have fun...and still get 35mpg on long trips :D

I doubt it will get 35mpg in the bigger car and AWD. Should be a kick ass DD though.

TRUF. I think audi guys talk about 32-33 though, pretty decent considering its a 2.0turbo.

I can get my 2.0T FWD Saab to get a max of 35mpg on the highway if I do a leisurely 60mph.

I bet the 10.5:1 compression ratio helps that highway mileage quite a bit.

Yea it should be better with mileage than even my M was. So thats a plus! The S4 would have sucked with mileage.. 15 city 21 max highway...

Very nice! I hear ya on the touch of class, even a MS6 was a little too rough for me. Settled on a nice little S60 for now, and I'll upgrade to the R later on. Although that new Acura RL Type SH AWD is getting pretty reasonable these days. I miss AWD when it snows.

I followed one of these for a bit tonight; while behind it I was thinking what a nice car that is.

Peter, so what kind of suspension are you going to do on that thing?

Im looking at Bilstien sport shocks with H&R's. A few Audi sites sell them as a package for under $700. I had the bilsteins on the M and they were deliciously tight.
