Re: My review, after a week of ownership
Needs a set of wheels and a slight drop badly. Looks real nice though. Any interior pics?

Re: My review, after a week of ownership
Nice car Swanny. Is the engine/turbo setup similar to a B5 S4?

Re: My review, after a week of ownership
You were up by my parents house taking pics?
People must of thought you were weird. Nice looking car. |
Re: My review, after a week of ownership
It's not exactly a race car, but the inside is so nice it's ok if it takes a little longer to get places. :D

I've done a few little things thus far, but nothing I would consider a real "mod". I had John make me a catch can that was tucked nicely into the cowl. I went thru and replaced 1/2 my vacuum lines with silicone (will do the other 1/2 maybe this weekend if I feel so inclined, otherwise my next day off), reprogrammed the TCM for a sport shift setup. Other than that I've done some maintenance. -0w40 synthetic oil change -new valve cover gaskets -r&r bank 1 secondary air pump to clean it (did that with the vac line "mods") -fixed a fog light bulb that was burned out -wiper blades really basic stuff, not to bad to do. I have a cat converter that is on the way out, might need to rectify that one soon...other than that no real plans for it. Maybe do a fluid flush on the trans as it is "lifetime fluid" but audi usually considers lifetime fluids to be around 100k. When the turbo's die, I'll upgrade. If I spend any real money into modding it it will be suspension and brakes. |
Re: My review, after a week of ownership

I wish I would have known! I have been looking very seriously at a 2000 M5 the last two days. I might not be ready for the plunge just yet though. |
Re: My review, after a week of ownership
American car... wtf man? LOL!
Good seeing you tonight. :D |

Do it! You know, as long as it's low mileage. Those engines aren't the most reliable on the planet. |

Versus the Nissan, where I'd be soup. This is an awesome daily driver that requires a mechanics touch at times. They are pretty modable but there is a definite line of the proven path and insanity...one I plan on not crossing. I love the M5's. I was looking at a higher mileage M3 at Sears Imports and this Audi, just didn't want the extra $$ into a daily driver. It is really hard to try to justify a rwd sports car as a commuter car in Minnesota. |
