It could be that after 5 seconds of the pump running without the engine cranking, it's able to build enough pressure for it to almost start, but then quickly runs out of pressure?

So I'm getting spark, but 1-3 is about half as strong as number 4. When I pulled them out, all 4 were still really soaked with gas from yesterday. number 3 wasn't too bad though.

Check the 3 fuses on the fuse block, all 3 are fine.

90% sure that is the fuel pump. You are giving it enough time to build up a little bit of pressure, so it tries to start, but it won't because the pressure drops off again. I had the same exact thing happen to my starion when the pump was getting flaky.

So what would cause it to not have enough pressure? I'm more than likely going to pull the pump out this weekend and check it.

Usually it is the pump not being installed correct and leaking after the pump. Usually it is the O-ring being bad or out of position.

Well, tomorrow night i'll probably pull the pump back out and check it.

Thankyou Jet and Kevin. The rubber line between the pump and the hard line was leaking in the tank. Fix that, and she started right up. However, my lines outside the tank are so rusted that they're leaking now that they have pressure.

So now I get to drop the tank and replace all the hard lines. Does anyone know where I could find a new or good conditioned 1g fwd pump assembly?

I fixed up all the leaks now on the feed line. I cut off the stock metal line that goes through the pump housing and instead got some brass fittings with barbed ends and sandwiched them in there. No leaks on that end, but when I started it up yesterday to try it out, I now have a leak on the return line.

It's the metal line on top of the tank that takes a 90 degree bend and right where it goes into the tank theres like a pinhole sized leak. So I jb welded it and we'll see if it holds. I might even put a second layer over it today after work now that the first layer has hardened and set up.

I guess if it isn't one thing it's sure as hell going to be another. If I never have to drain that gas tank or smell 92 octane ever again I'll be so happy.
