I've always been one to stay out of a confrontation, however if someone were to kick me. All bets are off, the guy would have had the number of the club stamped into the side of his face. Or if i wasn't too pissed, his arm.

I didn't say a firearm had to be brandished, I would doubt he would have been such a dick if you had the pistol hanging on your belt, thats all. Usually people without guns don't pick on people with guns much.

This is true, but when I'm carrying, I conceal. It's really best if no one knows you are carrying. Sure, people will be a hell of a lot more polite to you, but in a life and death situation carrying it in plain sight puts you at a big disadvantage.

you should have gone out there later and made like 100+ divots. And when the dude comes knocking at your door looking to yell at you... simply tell him, "Damn man, Do you have any witnesses that can say that i did that?... No.. Well shit man call the police."

but seriously, no one questions the one with a gun, so conceal and carry

Fuck that dick head, personally I would have knocked him out as soon as he started yelling at me, but that's just me, if not I would move out then rent a bobcat and dig his whole front yard up.

And regarding the permit to carry, as soon as he kicked you (if you had a gun) it would be legal to pull your firearm out and get rid of the threat, not by shooting of course but just pointing it would make most people stop assaulting you.

What would a cop do if you kicked them and they felt as if you could take them in hand to hand combat? Either they would taze you, or pull out their gun and get you to surrender, either way they teach you to eliminate the threat.

CVD I totally agree about concealing as well rather than exposing your hand gun.

The requirement for self-defense usually involve "fearing death or great bodily harm" and being a "non-willing participant." The act of exchanging words with the guy or brandishing to an unarmed person puts you in a gray area of being a willing participant and escalating...you might be found not-guilty if things go bad but you'll need a damn good lawyer.

I took Assad Ayoob's LFI course...good stuff as far as the legal questions go.

I wouldn't risk carrying a gun in this liberal state where you can get locked up for defending your person and property.

Your right there might be some questions to answer but like I said before, if you kicked and assaulted a police officer or a armored car driver they would draw their weapon on your in a second, and their carry permit is the same as a civilians as far as I know.

In this specific case he got kicked while down and the guy was a lot bigger than him, and I think he was chasing or walking after him, I think the threat was there and it could have gotten a lot worse.

But your right anytime your pull your weapon you better be ready to answer a million questions as to why.

I am a fan for divoting the shit out of the yard once you move. Or give those kids some sand wedges or wide irons to make some divots with.
