Re: A 2nd or winter car
I wouldn't drive a coilover car through the winter. I've heard they get all messed up from all the sludge/salt, I can see them being very hard to adjust after a winter or two here. But I drove 3 winters now on my Talon and a single set of winter tires, but up until now it's had just lowering springs.
I probably won't drive it much at all this winter if I still have it. I'd rather drive around with RWD just to save the coilovers in the Talon. |
Re: A 2nd or winter car
All this talk about driving in the snow makes me not wanna store my evo for the winter!

What do you call summer tires? I figured mitsu was smart enough to put all season tires on the ("ralley inspired") car but I guess not. Never had special tires, never had an issue. If my 1800 pound, skinny tired car drives fine, most others will do fine. Guess AWD wasn't enough to give the EVO traction on asphalt, had to go with sticky tires??? Doesn't make sense to me but I suppose there is some reason for it. I will have to check his tires next time I see them. |
