yeah thats why i would like a fwd and awd 1g dsm. o i typed that wrong i meant to say fwd at the begining. i think most of my races will be on the highway unless its a stop light in the town or somthing.
What mph do you plan on starting the highway races from? If you seriously go into modding a FWD, you will not have traction until 4th gear. If you race more from 40-120 or so, a similar modded AWD will probly be quicker. I think fwd is overrated when it comes to a race from a roll. AWD is not slow at all from a roll. Almost everyone who mods a FWD wishes they would hae gone AWD. FWD gets better gas milage and display of horsepower (burnouts), but lacks an important quality in racing. Traction.

I do love my 30 mpg on the highway.

Having bad/leaking valve seals will not lower your compression, it would increase it, due to the oil leaking into the cylender and sealing the rings better. Its the valve seats that start to leak compression. So a simple head rebuild with new valve seals and lapping the valves will work wonders, get a new headgasket and ARP's and call it good. My car FWD would be all over the place untill I got over 100 in 4th, thats with 420whp though. That them there MPG is tempting though. :3gears:

are you guys serious! even while going that fast it still has no traction!
i was thinking races going from 20-120. so the awd will be quicker?
how fast will a modded awd go on the high way? 140+ maybe? ok i think going to save up for a awd then. i did want a awd since the beginning.

what do you guys think about that gvr-4 for 3500$?

SquackDiddy 04-18-2004 06:22 PM

um ive decided to get a fwd first. cause i need something to drive first. then ill save up and get an awd.
