Re: 311evo's ev-oh
Dude, I'm so happy you got your car back together, and better than ever. My heart sank when I heard your engine ate something, can't wait to see it now!

Re: 311evo's ev-oh
This thing definitely rips. I think what Jake forgot to mention also was this was the first car I have ever gotten car-sick from lol. Didn't really eat anything all day and we finally stopped at Denny's after the tune. I ate until I was full and then Jake finally worked up to doing a couple pulls on the freeway where it was dry (rained all day). Let's just say after the first 2-3 pull and 3-4 pull, I felt like getting ejecting of the food I just ate lol. Jake took it easy after that until we got closer to home where I started to feel better haha. Definitely the fastest car I have ever ridden in. I have since rode in his car and haven't gotten sick though.

Re: 311evo's ev-oh
It seems my rear dif might be howling.. *trying to keep calm*
It started making a howling sound on and off quitely, changing about every 2 seconds between a light howl and no noise. Now it seems to be more constant/loud, and I can definitly hear something isnt quite right on decel, even with the car out of gear. And it certainly seems to be comming from the rear. Thoughts? maybe T-case and not diff? |
Re: 311evo's ev-oh
Try replacing all the fluid in both and see if it helps.
|
Re: 311evo's ev-oh
Mine howls for sure, but I didn't notice it until I put in the solid rear diff bushings. It is only apparently at a constant cruise at highway speeds, but under decel and heavy acceleration it goes away.
|
Re: 311evo's ev-oh
It's the loudest for me on decel now, it's a hard noise to explain but it's pretty loud. Going to avoid driving it until I can change the fluid. What is recommended for a non-stock car?

Re: 311evo's ev-oh
Redline shockproof (lightweight, medium, heavyweight, whatever your preference may be) is the shit.
|
Re: 311evo's ev-oh
Or just redline 75w90, good shit.
|
Re: 311evo's ev-oh
I've heard people running the heavyweight in the diff successfully. I'll look into it a bit and get it changed sometime this week.
|
Re: 311evo's ev-oh
Just make sure you run the right stuff in the T-case, I think the Redline 75w-90 might damage the t-case. We usually put in the Mitsu Diaqueen LSD.
|
Re: 311evo's ev-oh
Redline has two different 75W90 fluids, one with a friction modifier and one without. Regardless of what you use it must be a GL-5 fluid for both the transfer case and rear diff. No friction modifier is needed for the rear diff, but the jury is out as to whether or not it's needed for the transfer case.
