Re: BOV Fluttering?
I'm pretty sure the BOV doesn't open much if at all when revving the engine freely.

Re: BOV Fluttering?
maybe I missed it... was he saying it opens under load? I would agree that it not opening during a free-rev isn't really something to be concerned about. I dont think I've ever had a car that does.

Re: BOV Fluttering?
I mean, I suppose maybe if i had free-revved it to redline perhaps. But why would you want to do that? I have never felt the need to show off that much.

Re: BOV Fluttering?
This is just free rev in the videos, I'm just free revving it to around 3-3.5k but definitely not enough for boost. I'm sure if do keep revving like I'm going to launch it will hit boost but I do not at all want to hit boost because of being un-tuned. It's just that I've never heard of my car doing this. It still concerns me because could it possible damage my turbo sooner or later? Is the air going back to the turbo making this sound? I will slap on the 1g bov soon and update it with another video. I will also plug all the holes in the intake after the mas also just to see if the blindly cures anything.

Re: BOV Fluttering?
yeah it shouldt be fluttering but i dont think it would do damage, whats wrong with a stock 1g bov?
|
Re: BOV Fluttering?
nothing is wrong with the 1g bov. just gotta drill in the holes on it so it will mount on to the greddy flange

Re: BOV Fluttering?
It should be just fine. The Tial I had on my dsm did that with anything under 11psi, and I never had any signs of premature wear on the two turbos I had on it in 3 years.
