AP1 rear differentials were the weak-point of the drivetrain, they're basically just shot peened Miata rear ends. The AP2 did get a strengthened diff though (which is what Cher bought). For the AP1's you can either swap in an AP2 or buy an upgraded/strengthened unit from Comptech.

In my '02 I had a Comptech diff with 4.57 gears (4.10 is stock). It would sit around 5k RPM at 80 MPH in 6th gear :D

Sell it to me when you get bored of it. I checked out about ten this spring but couldn't find one that wasn't beat-up. Knowing how picky you are, I'm sure yours is in nice shape.

We'll see what happens. It's funny how there's already 3 people who's called dibs on it when I wanna get rid of it lol.
