Re: valve spring Q
I got a question, are valve springs a swap in and go kinda thing, was told today that they might need shimming? for an exstra 50 bucks I can pick up some Brian crowers with titanium retainers, lots of mixed feelings with the evo springs on dsmtuners also talked with aa buddy and was surprised to find that he ran 280s on stock springs. Kinda getting mixed reviews, but all in all I really appreciate all the help and tips guys thank you.

Re: valve spring Q
You shim for the cams when using regrinds. If your cams were installed correctly you'll find shims (washers) under the lifters.
280s on stock springs wouldn't last long. Even with the set of bc280s I had originally bought for my car. The Fps I had were borderline to coil bind. If you have everything apart you can run a stock spring to a head shop and they can check to se if your cams will cause issues with stock springs. Then at least you know what you'll need to get. But if on a budget I'd still do evo springs and retainers. |
Re: valve spring Q
Where can I find evo stuff...just keep an eye out on here and tuners, I have yet to see a set pop up so thats why I ask. .

Re: valve spring Q
I'd go check out evomn.net if it is up again or the national evo forums. Maybe even check with the local shops around here. I know sometimes when evo guys upgrade their springs they don't want them so some shops might have some laying around as well.
