Did you try the number posted above? Junkyards are the only place I can think of, unless you want to spend the money and take it to like Harmon Auto Glass or something.

I'm sorry this happened to you on xmas. :( What did they do to the lock? Did the try a screwdriver to something?

Things are just getting better...

Mike and Josh got home this evening and saw my trunk was open. I didn't go outside all day because I didn't have anything to do and sure as hell didn't want to drive anywhere. I was quite surprised when they told me my trunk was open so I ran outside to find my trunk completely empty. Since they busted my trunk lock I wasn't able to open it and get the stuff out. They managed to somehow get tin snips or something around the lock mechanism and "flower" out the metal around the lock and bust it free. They took 2 10" subs in a huge bandpass box, my amp, and about $1200 worth of R/C equipment. Happy frickin' holidays.

I hope Mike is right in his suspicions (sp?). If you decide they need to be dealt with in unlegal manners let all of us know, I know a good group of people who would be down for a good old-fashioned stomping.

Damn Matt, that is some bullshit. Just wondering, have you filed a police report? Because there are times where they will bust people with things and you could get them back. Just a thought.

And yeah Mike I would get take a little more security measures around there. Especially with all the money in cars and parts outside.

Oh and one more thing. Couldn't you claim that on the shops insurance? Maybe not. Just wondering.

They would have to make up some fake invoices and records showing why the car was at the shop, for what reasons, and during what dates. Even that might be a stretch since he lives right there and insurance companies do hate The Fraud.

I wasn't talking about defrauding the insurance company, I was talking about something along the lines of homeowners insurance. Where even some of your outside belongings are covered.

That sucks, I had my van broken into 2 weeks ago in Phoenix. They took my XM, two power inverters, the charging base for my walkis talkies and my fishing poles. What they let was a TV, reciever, 200 disc, scanner, printer, laptop, my tool box and a bunch of misc stuff. I felt lucky, but I got all of the rest of my shit out before the next night. Also they didn't break my window, they just pulled it down.

Wow, that sucks. Just curious, but could you not get your trunk open to get that stuff out earlier?

No, that is not covered under a shop policy as it is in the parking lot. When it happened to Allan's car & another customer's car earlier this summer it was not covered. It's no different than having your car at Target's parking lot. The only thing that would cover that stuff would be if you have renter's insurance (which everyone should have). Then it would all be covered probably. At least it was when it happened to me (twice).

Sorry again Matt. When it rains, it pours. Trust me.

If you want I could go to a junk yard after I get off work tomorrow, and bring it down to you at the house. There are plenty that have them. (car-part.com) You didn't seem too interested the first time I suggested it though. Unless Grand Prix’s are special, it a bolt in affair.

No, I couldn't get it open. I tried my key and it wouldn't turn, and forcing it with a screwdriver didn't work either.

That would be much appreciated. I didn't know you were offering earlier.

I think its about time to camp out in the truck with a bat and turn out the outside lights, right next to the shop.
Time for a little pin the tail on the donkey action....
