Re: What is everyone's opinion on lightweight flywheels?
I know my ACT was stepped correctly out of the box, I can't say for Fidanza though.

The Fidanza is stepped correctly also.

Re: What is everyone's opinion on lightweight flywheels?
So how long does the friction surface last on a fidanza? Average wear are we talking less than 25k? I know it depends on how you use it but lets say it came on the car stock?
Also same for the ACT? Anyone have advice for me on what I should do if I have to replace my clutch in a month or so when pull her out of storage? It would be nice to have a lightened flywheel and from the reviews Im torn between the ACT and fidanza, but it will be a daily driver so parking and such needs to be taken into acount. Thats wear Im torn. The Fidanza is so light I guess parking or rolling very slow sucks, but the ACT is quite a bit heavier. Im just wondering why go light if your not going to go all the way? Im guessing drivability and launch issues. |
Re: What is everyone's opinion on lightweight flywheels?
It isn't like the Fidanza is a whore or anything, I daily drove mine with one for years. I would probably go ACT if I wasn't putting a lot of power down though.

Re: What is everyone's opinion on lightweight flywheels?
Regarding the stalling and idle problems when letting the clutch out. Wouldnt removing the ISC and FIAV with a blockoff plate eliminate the ECU's control on the idle and keep the engine speed wherever you set it with the BISS? Even when coming to a stop or letting of a high rev?
I would think that would be a solution. |
Re: What is everyone's opinion on lightweight flywheels?
No because the ecu shuts off fuel above a certain rpm when you let off the throttle completly and with the light flywheel it comes down faster than the ecu anticipates and stalls before the ecu starts firing the injectors again.
