330CI is as close to the e46 M3 as your going to get. It has the biggest 6 in the 3 series, 2 door, rwd, its just the nicest 3 series you can get.

If you wanted to you could look into the X series but I dont think Id buy a bmw that is AWD just because it affects weight and I dont think they handle quite as well AWD, plus all the X's are 4 door and I prefer 2 doors.

Im not sure what the insurance would be on a 330, I pay around 150 a month for the M3 full coverage, no tickets, good grades and Im over 21. I was paying 180 for the eclipse, but since I turned 21 that seemed to lower it quite a bit. Just call up your agent and get quotes for each of the cars your looking at.

I would like the RSX's if they were not wrong wheel drive -FWD. Plus I didnt like there interiors at all...

OMG e46 M3= best thing ever! what package is it that comes on the 3 series that makes it look like an M3? ZHP? is that it? thats not bad for insurance at all! jeez, does BMW ever put a front bumper from an M3 on the 3 series? that is like the coolest car ever.

besides the new new m3, that thing is major hotness!

You're retarded colin. You need the 'dumb ricer' title back...Kyle, where are you?

Just buy the prelude and be happy forever. I'll even toss in a free chevy celebrity ;)

I'd geet that ion redline, just cause I know the car, and work on them often..get a different pulley, and nitrous..it can be a rather quick little car. Shifts nice too..and is cheap.

I think the FOcus SVT is a lot of car for not a lot of $$. Its not super fast, but it handles excelent, has kick ass leather Recaro seats, real HID's, a smooth shifting 6 speed, a really good sounding 6 disk stereo, and great brakes. You can pick up a used low milage SVT Euro Package for around $11K.
I will agree the looks are a little different, and it needs more power.

I have a really fast DSM and a stock Focus SVT. I drive the focus most of the time, because its got all the things I just mentioned going for it. If the Focus had the DSM power, looks and AWD it would be perfect.

MY Bro-in-law has a SVT focus, and I think it is a terrible car when you look at it's compition. The only reason you can get one so cheap is because fords resale is terrible.

But if you like it, that's cool. Just stating my opinion.

tell that to the AWD dsm owners that I put 1.5 seconds on in the local autox. They were running summer onlys while my poor shitbox waste of space was running all seasons.

the svt focus beat me by almost 2 seconds.

in 03 the SVT focus beat the 03 SRT4 in car and drivers comparo test.

it beat the
civic si
mazada speed
srt4
se-r spec v

that must mean all the 03 models of those cars are wastes of space.

everyone tears the svt econo cars down because they aren't fast in a straight line.

I am liking the integra R, but i dont want my car fucking stolen. This car will most likely be driven in the winter, but not much...

they are a 2.5L with 200hp

they are ok cars for autoxing and are one of the better sporty dailys. But they are horrible in the snow, even with snow tires.

If you've got that much to spend, I'd never waste it on some little shitbox like the Focus, Ion or RSX. I agree with the Cobra, you can't beat them for bang for the buck. I've got a '04 Mach 1 right now and I'm impressed as hell with it. They've come a long way since the last Mustang I've had. Personally, in that range, I'd get a C5 Vette. I sold a '98 this last summer for $16K, that was a hell of a car. They usually go for around $20K.

i think insurance would be too high for me to own a C5 or an M3.

but they would be nice cars to own.

the 330 or 325 has a Sport Package that will give you the M suspension.

might be worth trying to find.

The first bmw i test drove was a 325ci with the sport package and it was quite nice, handled great, but it was like 25k. Maybe try looking for an older one or private party only.

Lexus IS300. There's a few to be had for around $20,000. But if it were me, I'd get something cheaper and pay it off right away, or just pay cash for it.

I have been looking also. I am looking at slightly different cars, the BMW 3 series, G35, Caddy CTS, Lincoln LS, etc. The best bang for the buck is the Lincoln LS. I took one for a test drive and was amazed at how well it handled. It doesn't feel nearly as heavy as it is and the interior is awesome. It is the same car as the Jaguar X-type, but RWD basically. I am probably going to pick this one up in NYC this month. V8, sport suspension, leather, 5 spd auto, sunroof, 6 disc in dash, 46k miles, fully loaded for $12,500. It was $40k sticker when new.

Ever consider a cheap, fast Colt/Summit 4G63 motor Swap Super Sleeper?

Get a cheap beater. Don't take out a loan for some 20k car while you are trying to work through college.
