He never said he didn't understand why, I'm sure he just doesn't like people driving his car, and since he can dyno his car without someone driving it, that would be the route he would take.

Anyway, thats how I would feel. I am the same way. If I can fix something myself without having to trust someone else, no matter how competent they might be, unless I can watch it being done, I just am always waiting for something bad to happen.

I understand why they have to drive the cars on the dyno... we are the same way.
If shane wanted to drive his personal car on our dyno, I would let him. Why? Because he owns nearly the same thing I have.

If we are sitting right at the 15 car makr we will probably start this event with the first car on at noon. If we are sitting at the 20 car mark will will probably start this around 11am.

Definatly no good Brandon :(

For those who still want to put their car up on the dyno lets do this!!!

Go here: http://dsmstyle.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11392 follow the directions in the first post to sign up and lets get the 15-20 car mark hit in the next week.

Anyone got people from IA or WI that they want to push and get on the dyno, feel free. I want to get as many of the 20 cars we would like to sign up to be actual DSMs as possible, but also enjoy seeing the 3S and EVO guys up there.

I dont think I want to make any dyno passes and I dont know what a "pull off" is but I would like to just come down to meet you guys and hang out. Is that ok?

Tauni 06-22-2006 03:01 AM

Re: DSMStyle.com SUMMER BASH / DYNO DAY ** GENERAL DISCUSSION **

I'll come hang out if I can find the place. But Dynoing my car would be a waste of money and precious time.

Re: DSMStyle.com SUMMER BASH / DYNO DAY ** GENERAL DISCUSSION **

Why not get an idea what kind of shape the car is in and what kind of numbers it can toss down? Either way definatly show up. It's easy to find and I will put a nice map together that shows directions and layout of Rogers and where DB is.

The "Pull Off" is where a team of 2 people try to pull a DSM a set distance with tow straps as fast as they can. We saw 5 teams do this at the LSE event and what started as quick additive to break in the dyno action ended as a very close and fun competition! We award trophies to the winners as well!

I almost wouldn't mind it but I wouldn't want to leak oil all over the dyno. Plus I can see something bad happening if I put it up there. But I will for sure come out. And I don't plan on bringing any guests this time...

Re: DSMStyle.com SUMMER BASH / DYNO DAY ** GENERAL DISCUSSION **

I will for sure show up, it would be fun to meet some local DSMers. We'll see on the dyno, I need a few more speed parts before I decide. That pull off sounds kinda fun, does it matter who my partner is? I am going down to the cities from the 20-23 with my buddy Tyler. We are staying with his brother and basically hanging out for 4 days. I will be driving down in my DSM so I can show it off at this meet and maybe hit up Rock Falls some day down there. Would it be ok for him to be my partner even though he doesnt have a DSM and isnt a part of this site? If thats ok, let me know, I will sign us up!

You're speaking in past tense, the event isn't till July!

Right now start time looks to be abot 11am ~ish. With 20 cars signed up we will probably start it up around 10-10:30 ish.

The earlier the better. I have to be at the Marriott by 2:30PM at the latest and am hoping to not miss any of the dyno'ing.

I'll probably be there, but I doubt i'll dyno. I don't plan on adding any power mods until next year, and I'll get my numbers down after I tune the car in a few days.

I can tell you that you will miss a good chuck of it. We will probably break early in the afternoon to do the pull off, so we do it when the biggest crowd is there.

AJ 07-06-2006 12:27 PM

Re: DSMStyle.com SUMMER BASH / DYNO DAY ** GENERAL DISCUSSION **

So how is everyone coming on their cars? I know there more poeple who can take advantage of the AWD dyno's being available on these dynos days at these prices. I wouldn't think hitting 15 cars would be a problem for how many members we have, and new ones signing up every day. Spread the word and lets get a hell of a turnout!

I might come to wacth. Going to HIN at the end of the month so I really don't have the cash. Plus I would need a tune so it's pointless for me. Hope you guys and gals have fun!

My clutch will be out this weekend, so there should be plenty of time to get parts for it.

Well, I bent my valves. But the beast will be up and running by dyno day.

There's been way too much valve bendage this summer. El Nino maybe?

I'm considering it, just to see what my car is doing and what I need to make it do. But it's having a lot of problems, so we will just have to see.

That's what these day are for. Find out where you are at. Just make sure it's safe for the guys at DB and doesn't leak fluids all over hell.

Will a wideband be available? I havent dynoed my car yet (2.4, 50 trim, dsmlink, fp'2, 880's, ect) and I would like to see where Im at. Is there time to make small adjustments on dsmlink between runs? What are the dyno rates normally?

Sorry if any of these questions are obvious; I'm new to this forum.

AJ 07-11-2006 01:24 PM

Re: DSMStyle.com SUMMER BASH / DYNO DAY ** GENERAL DISCUSSION **

They use a wideband. Assuming you are in the car while it's on the dyno (Pass seat) you should have time ot make an adjustment if it's quick before the next pull. Usually people will try a change in boost or something small, no extra time for tuning. It's a great chance to see where you are at to get things start and see how you have got you're car set up before setting up some time to do tuning for an hour or so with one of the shops.

Need to get some stuff done before I can dyno next weekend.

I want to have the surface of my head cleaned up just a bit before I put the new head gasket on. Stock HG finally gave up after more than a month and a half of 25-26 PSI daily driving. :) DSMLink was reporting 54lbs per minute on most pulls. God I love e85, no knock on a 60/40 mix of e85 and 92 octane, I would knock on 110 or 111 at 25 psi. :D

Too bad my car will be for sale after next weekend. :( Have to pay for the new car.

Jim
