Re: Do you like ford
You guys should look up the connecting rod comparison pic (Cummins vs. Powerstroke vs. Duramax) that has floated all over the internet. It's hilarious.

Re: Do you like ford
The Cummins has much bigger pistons, and thus needs bigger connecting rods... It also has the lowest redline you will ever see...

Re: Do you like ford
Ford Sucks, Chevy sucks, GMC (frown),Nissan is a good ass truck too! Toyota ROCKS! Get a Tundra Full size extended cab! You'll want every passenger to say" Get IN"! Best Horsepower in its CLASS! Japanese makes long lasting engines!
Most american cars do not last up to 200,000 MILES! everything just breaks! You see them old corolla still running around at 300,000 miles!! hahaha! thats crazy! ESP the 1986 Corolla (Trueno) Japan's finest drift car! |
Re: Do you like ford
Dude pull your head out. Since when did Nissan or Toyota start making diesel trucks? I have seen loads of US made vehicles with well over 200k on them. Nash's old truck was close to 200k when I sold it and that damn thing still drove awesome and looked great. I miss it :(

Re: Do you like ford
I don't have a link or anything, but a few guys at lunch today were talking about some guy that had a 91/92 chevy 1500 that just turned over a million miles. I wish I had more info on that, but appearantly it still had the original engine and transmission.

91 Chevy- "The truck has had four radiators, three gas tanks, five transmissions and six water pumps, but the engine has never been overhauled, Oresnik said." My dad had a Tahoe and I liked it when it wasnt broken. Had way too many issues. |
Re: Do you like ford
Jeep 4 liter. American made gasoline engine that goes forever.

Re: Do you like ford
I heard that Chevy is trying to buy it from him once it rolls over 1mil. so they can study it.

Re: Do you like ford
It would be cool to see what condition the cyllinder walls, bearings, and rings are in after that many miles.

Re: Do you like ford
That's old, there's been more than one chevy truck with over 1M miles on it. The newer Chevy trucks are going well over 200k these days, I see one every week at the auction. The diesels can go 400-500K miles, they last forever. I've seen several 2005 American diesel pickups come through with well over 200K miles, most of the time, they look brand new. Suspensions are kinda worn though.

I don't know about any of that stuff, cause it's volvo or nothing, baby! WWWOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Re: Do you like ford
Hell 80's Chevy/Olds 305's could do that. I had a Delta that went 245000 with just a water pump and timing chain. It has nothing to do with what country it came from. A good design and proper maintenance and good luck is all.

Re: Do you like ford
Regular maintenance can make or break the life of a motor. Auto manufactures don't design cars to be 100% reliable for the whole life span of the vehicle because parts are a large money maker for them. My dad's 97' silverado just rolled over 250k and the only things he has had to replace was the alt, water pump, and fuel pump.
