I heavily disagree with the banning, they don't seem fair. IMO if RLFebo and Peter get a 3 day ban, Me, Spaz, and maybe a few others should've gotten one also.

You know, I started this thread hoping for people to maybe make a comment or two, maybe toss in an apology, and then just let bygones be bygones. I guess that is just too much for some of you.

Why this was not enough of a warning for everyone to basically STFU and let it go is beyond me. Hughes & I try and keep things civil around here. I try and be neutral and fair and interject as little as possible and its a big fucking joke to some of you. I seriously feel like you guys push my (and hughes') buttons more and more just to see how much shit you can get away with. You guys are so fucking head strong you simply are not man enough to just back down and just not comment when you've already commented COUNTLESS times on shit. I fucking GET IT, you've made your point, now go post elsewhere!

Oh, and another thing. Just because The Parking Lot is 'Off-Topic' does not mean 'please make random posts that are off-topic from the OP' it means 'post about stuff that is not generally car related, but keep it ON THE ORIGINAL TOPIC.' Conversations get derailed so quickly its like MNSC or *insert-any-other-forum-here* sometimes. It's not that hard to start a new thread on a new topic, or when you're reading one thread and you think of another (spaz's haircut for example), go post in that original thread, not the one that has nothing to do with it!

I'm really not sure what else to say. I'm trying to run a fucking car forum here and you guys are just fucking dicks sometimes--to me and to each other. It's spring, go work on your car and post up pics/progress. I thought winter was over. :(

Honestly that's why I have stopped coming out all the time it just gets old hearing the same shit about people all the time. Not saying I am innocent on it, just easier to stay away and see whats going on every once in a while.

For spaz's comment I cant see him actually hitting a biker just not the place or time to say such a thing.

I think it is funny I have seen these bashing threads many times and I cant think of any time I have even clicked on one of them to read it. I guess they just didn't appear interesting enough to me.

After reading the rest of this thread ive realized that those bashing threads cannot be possible. And these little poking jokes arnt jokes if you actually have distaste towards someone. And I can see where spaz got mad. I never participated in these threads for this reason. From my understanding we are all friends in a sense and next time if im out and about with you boys, possibly hooters, Spaz if you come to hooters and I come regardless if you have cash ill buy you a few beers.

Everyone should be on here to have fun so Spaz come out for beers and ill buy you a couple, I dont really know you but you can never have to many friends.

I would just like to say thank you to Scheides and Kracka for running such a good site. By far this is the best forum I have ever been on and the nicest. Most forums have way too many rules and the mods are all up-tight about everything. It just saddens me to see this stuff going on. Hopefully all issues will be resolved and we can get back to all being friends. So THANKS guys for running such a nice and calm site!

Welp, I fully support the complete elimination of all bashing threads and a day long ban for anyone who purposly makes such a thread.

I've been on the receiving end of quite a lot of hate on this board over the years, and I have tried to "get even" by lashing out, and then I got banned. Which made me even more pissed.

Peter is a generally hateful person with a superiority complex and a bad habit of making snide remarks behind people's backs or on the internet where he faces no real repercussions. I feel as though I've moved beyond that stage in my life and I also feel that because I come out to the club meets at OC or where ever, I can't go around dissing and bashing people on the internet, and I have no desire to do so.

Peter never comes out to the meets, so you can't ever find out what the person behind the keyboard is like. But from what I read and what I have argued with him about, I believe he is absolutely no better in person than he is online. And if he's nice in person, he's faking it. That's how I feel and I'm guessing it's not going to change.

Spaz on the other hand is always out with the group and I know he's a genuinly good person. Peter and Charles have several years between them. When I was Spaz's age I said retarded stuff online, but I'm pretty sure I'm about the same age as Peter, and I don't really say anything like what he says anymore. A few years can make a huge difference in most cases, but not all apparently.

Wow. I'm gone to work all day long, come home, and see all this unfold.

Atleast now my cornhole can seal back up from all the insertions i've recieved, and I'm happy to know It all closed with my bashing thread being the biggest, and original one! I guess people had alot to say about me! ;)

I cannot say spaz's comment in that thread was needed, and was in distaste, but that's been stated time and time again, so I'd rather not beat the dead horse and move on.

I'm going to have to agree with this bigtime. this is by far the nicest and best forum I've been on. back when I had an mx6 and was on the mx6 forum you would get grilled just for asking a question like everyone on there was a car god and knew everything there is to know about cars. that doesnt happen here. thats why I like this site so much

it seems that i missed the juicy parts but this thread has become the prime example of why we should not have bashing threads.

this thread started as a good thread about a specific topic but turned into a giant bashing thread of its own about the same old shit.

i havent been here long, and ive only met a handful of people. those i have met i have nothing but respect for. but those of you i havent, i have lost some respect for based on your conduct in this thread, and i havent even met you guys yet.

from an outside source it looks like this forum is made of a bunch of teenage brats who care more about what someone else is doing than what your doing yourself or just helping people out with there cars and whatever else.

this is a car forum not a shit festival and from what ive seen its almost a 70-30 split, shit pies > car forum

if you got a problem with someone else why cant you just either deal with them personaly or just leave them to there buisness? is that really so hard.

i had some more thoughts but i hit the back button and lost them. damn dont you hate it when that happens?

And Andrew, I feel the same way about going to meets. I'm not going to go online and rip someone a new asshole when I know I'll see them in less than a week. It's just not, you know, a smart thing to do. Doesn't help that everyone on here could kick my ass, either. And yes, I'm including Emily in "everyone".

All I can say is I really enjoy this forum and those I met we had fun. I learned alot of things and not even just about cars. Thanks for the forums hopefully I can get sometime to come out to more events :-D

Viridionplague - you should have read my first iteration of my post, lol. Maybe what should happen is instead of posting right away, the forum will make you wait 30 seconds or a minute then say, "are you sure you want to post that?" I bet it would give people enough time to reconsider what they wrote and change things that are "too much."

If you want to see a strictly moderated, but "family friendly" car site, visit starquestclub.com. They don't take crap from anyone there. You get booted at the first sign of being as asshole. A year and a half ago, I got banned for nearly 6 months for being a douchebag, and was only let back in because someone else vouched for me. Since then I've made good and only contribute positively. I try to do the same here usually.

It you think starquest is bad? try teamNABR! atleast the old site..you had to be invited, write an acceptance essay, etc..every post had to be constructive, correctly punctual, etc..and the mods where total nazis! (steve hill was one of them, dunno how as he hardly posted from what I rmemeber!) and elite of elite where consistant posters on there, like rau, shep, kiggly, etc..

its not that i dont like it here. cause i do. its just that sometimes all this shit gets annoying, and when it starts spilling into other threads its kind of annoying.

and some of the threads just look bad from an outside opinion.

im all for jokes, posting funny stuff or serius stuff other than strait up car stuff. but sometimes it just goes way to far and way outside the lines.

and specifically making a bashing thread about someone just looks horribly distasteful no matter how you look at it

Wow. The biggest thing here is that if people don't want a bashing thread about them, the don't post in it. Both Spaz and Swifty posted in their bashing threads. It wouldn't be fun for the bashers if you didn't post in the threads and they would quit.

Spaz, I have met you several times and I can tell you are a good person. I think you might just try a little too hard around people or something. Every time I have met you I have heard some ludicrous story about you driving drunk and recklessly. Nobody thinks that is cool or funny, it is stupid. Stop trying so hard, chill out and relax. I think you and everyone else will have more fun.

My post on that was made in jest. I know Spaz would not intentionally run into anyone either on a bike, or in a car, and I'm sure he knows that I wouldn't do things like that to him. I know that words on the internet are easily twisted, and if I offended anyone by making that post, I'm genuinely sorry. I don't have a problem with Spaz personally.

I'm glad to see that the bashing threads are closed, since all of the fun seems to have been sucked out of them and been replaced with low blows, and inappropriate comments. Now, let's get back to talking about cars, and have some fun here again!

i know i wasnt on the forum's when the majority of this took place but i just wanted to put in my two cents.

I recently quit the car club i was in down here in roch called RPM because of members bashing me about my car. i understand that the bashing wasnt about a members car but i do understand the feeling. i feel that if your part of a group/club it should be friends and car talk. if a conflict goes to the point that events and cruises are not possible with these people then something needs to be done. that was the point that i had gotten to with my club and thats why i quit. i support a no bashing forum

Yeah, there were times in the past when I felt I couldn't go to meets or whatever because I'd see people I had recently argued with on the internet. Lame as that is, it's not fun to be in the situation.

fatty, why would you say peter is "on a pedistal" ? I can vouch for him actually being a really decent guy. I've been drunk, he gave me a roof, i've needed to borrow a few bucks here and there, he's had me (I've paid him back, don't worry) and he's been a good guy to me to turn to for ME to keep my sanity through the SHIT i've been dragged through as of late. Does your opinion of me differ because I'm never out at the wednesday meets, or a few other meets that are had around here? I think many can contest to me being a good guy, as they could with him. Perhaps under a new light, you could approach him maturely, and hold a discussion?

Mods, I understand where you are coming from on certain things, and as always you know I love it here. I really am lost on how this "banning spree" came about though..opinions where asked to be given, so they where. you banned those who gave it, but not others who gave theirs? How is it spaz has skated by? Does that mean that I too will be banned for giving my opinion on certain topics? Is that not what you asked?

Really? I hardly ever tell stories, let alone stories of me being drunk, and even less stories about me being drunk and driving (and for the record I never drive if I'm even moderately intoxicated, so drunk is a relative term). The last time was the Civic, what other ones have you heard?

Two things... first, he roofied you as a joke? Some fucking joke. Not something I'd laugh off, that's for sure.

Secondly, this "banning spree." I managed to "skate by" because I was talking with Hughes and Scheides pretty much all day, trying to work this shit out, as opposed to the original banned parties who tried to make a huge deal out of the whole situation and dragged it out, a shitstorm neither Scheides nor Hughes wanted to deal with. The non-involved parties who're banned asked for it to try to make some ridiculous point whose logic escapes me. Hell, I even told Hughes I would rather he wait on the bannings until we at least tried to work things out on Friday, but he and Scheides felt things got too out of hand and made the decision to ban.

I understand the moderators don't care to deal with it, but as a moderator your job is to do just that. If not, then don't be one (Again, not stabbing at you guys, but merely stating the obvious).

Swifty, you do not have a clue what went on or what posts were made that led to the bans. Scheides and I put up with quite a bit, and handed out enough warnings, before anyone got banned. The line was crossed too many times and our limits were intentionally being tested. When we asked numerous times to keep the thread on-topic and/or to start showing respect to all members on the board it is expected those requests be followed.

For real. Is it too much to ask for an ounce of respect in the posts that get moderated? I think everyone knows us well enough to know that if we deleted something or banned someone, it was for good reason. If you have a deleted post or have been banned and you don't know why, perhaps step back for a moment and take a breath before posting 'why did you delete my post!?!?!' or 'why did I get banned!?!?!?'....I've received a few PMs or IMs from people like this and I'd appreciate it a ton more if I just didn't. If you don't know why, please give the moderator the benefit of the doubt and trust that we have good intentions and are not personally attacking you, your family, your mother, and your dog.

Here is where I stand on this.

The people at fault need to man up and accept the fact that they're wrong. Scheides and Kracka dealt with it as they felt they needed to and that's the end of the subject.

Spaz, Peter and anyone else involved needs to calm down, drop the animosity and get on with life. There is no sense in expressing your profound hate for one another on this forum, on Facebook or even in person. I like all of you guys, but reading some of those posts in the bashing threads made me downright sick. You all know better.

Quit being idiots before I ban you all myself.

Well that is odd. I have met you 3 times and heard a drunk story each time. One was quite elaborate where you were talking about launching on a cop like 6 times, but he was out of his jourisdiction (which we busted you on, I believe TKR was the other one) and you said you were completely wasted. The last one you were racing some random car while you were drunk, a civic I think. I didn't pay much attention really.

So you say here you don't drive while drunk, but I have heard 3 stories where you say you are drunk and race people. Lying to try to impress people doesn't work. The stories all sounded quite fabricated, so I would guess you are telling the truth here. I would hope so anyway. Like I said before, just chill out and be yourself and you will be fine.
