I don't see Anna allowing him to get any timeslips in the future :D

Why don't they just make the phenolic spacers in metal? I didn't even know they were made in plastic. I still have one sitting around from QPR back in the day.

Re: Another reason I love my wife

What metal do you suggest they use? It must not transmit heat while being slightly crushable. I'm happy with my "plastic" one, its held up just fine to plenty of miles and a few auto-x events.

Heh I've never been to the track and dunno if I ever will. With this southbend clutch and it's ability to fuse to the flywheel, the car doesn't get launched. Maybe a little ghey, but the car is my DD anyways :) Plus, I prolly wouldn't be as concerned about ET as I would mph. Either way, thanks for the vote of confidence you foker! :P

Who wants to take bets on how long until the HG or freezplugs blow out on this car again??

heh, thanks for the vote of confidence swifty! What can I say, I'm good at breaking shyte. It's just a DSM afterall ;) How's that turbo coming btw? Notice my car broke and I got it back on the road in less than a week :D

Shut your mouth!!! That was TOTALLY not in my control, WHATSOEVER!!

Talon will be running tonight/tomorrow. Can't decide if I wanna work on it or not. lol.

Your car being down for over 2 months wasn't within your control?

Swifty1638 06-26-2009 11:20 AM

Re: Another reason I love my wife

Nope. Not when the turbo was gone, and PTE didn't respond back to calls or emails from me or bill at MAP. Not like I'm a balla like you guys, and can just go buy another 1,200 dollar turbo to throw on the car ;)

Re: Another reason I love my wife

Thanks Curt! Just trying to take it in stride and keep this thing on the road as my DD. I added a second alky jet for extra cooling and octane to help keep it reliable, but I can't help but think from time to time about just leaving the alky off, selling the kit, and using the money towards a nice double-din headunit/navi system and just keep the thing super-duper reliable. 375+whp is a freaking fun car!

These thoughts go away about 1.2 seconds after I flip the alky back on and Mr. Hyde takes over :D

Re: Another reason I love my wife

dude, leave it on...

OOOORRRR!!!

Sell, it, get your navi, and tune on e85! You'll make the same/more power, and cheap gas, cool, reliable! Problem solved!

Kracka 06-26-2009 01:09 PM

Re: Another reason I love my wife

He tried E85 and put down crappy power, that was the start of all his problems ;)

scheides 06-26-2009 01:23 PM

Re: Another reason I love my wife

E85 is a PITA to get for me, and while it may not have directly caused my original HG failure, I had more issues when running it than when I was not running it. PITA + sudden issues = a turn off for me! Once I get on the dyno I think I'll be really happy where the car is as it sits.

Re: Another reason I love my wife

I still need a ride in this thing, maybe at the fall dyno day we can exchange rides for each other?

Sounds like a plan, if not sooner!

Re: Another reason I love my wife

meh, I wish I could if only the thing could go 3 miles without having some sort of new problem.
