The house and backyard with the pool are really beautiful; we also like how quiet and peaceful the neighborhood seems (we've driven through multiple times during the day and night). The front yard is nice with some very mature trees so the house will have plenty of shade cover which will be nice for the summer (HOT!) months.

Pools are fairly common, but definitely not to be considered standard. A pool is one of Janelle's requirements for moving to Texas though so it has limited our search a bit but thats OK since it will be really nice to have one. This one is actually heated too so it can be used all year!

We just got back from a great dinner a Bonedaddy's which is like the Hooter's of BBQ and now we're relaxing with some beers.

The market is a tough one out there as Chris found out. Everyone says it is a buyers market, but depending upon your price point, you can be in a bidding war quite easily. I know we lost our first two and got our 3rd one (barely).

Basically we want a change of life; sick of winters, I hate MN politics, the Twin Cities infrastructure is falling apart, I hate snow, over-priced housing market, etc. Basically a lot of little reasons have been eating away at me for years and we're finally doing something about it :D

Overpriced housing market??? um... ok. My brother just bought a 4 br house for $86k, just needed a little elbow grease and it looks georgeous now.

Yeah I agree with all reasons except the housing market, if you are in the market to buy a house right now anywhere in MN you can get a house for damn near half the price of what it would have been 5 years ago. A buddy from work just bought a house for 150k, it was 312k a year and a half ago when it was originally listed. I feel bad for all the people that own homes in MN and want to sell them, that is the major problem.

Good luck in TX, the weather is great and the car scene is even better. No more KARE11. :(

The housing market in MN is a lot better than it was a few years ago, but for the type of houses Janelle and I were looking at I still felt they were very over valued. Eitherway, we got a damn nice one down here now (seller agreed to our 3rd offer after their many counter-offer attempts) that probably would have cost us double up there in an equivalent neighborhood, in the same condition, with similar upgrades and amenities. Janelle and I wanted a move-in ready house that was in perfect condition, in a nice white-collar neighborhood, and already had the upgrades we like so there were no immediate plans of having to renovate, etc. Anyways, on to the pictures!

We just got the signed paperwork back from the seller and had an inspection done today. There are a few issues we want her to take care of but for the most part things are looking good :D
