Re: Indoctrination in our schools?

Like Kracka said, this whole thread got right off topic from the very start, because a bunch of people jumped in and called the OP a racist. Funny how that same thing happens every single day in the media. Someone calls out Obama on any of his crazy socialist policies and they are immediately a racist. Why can't any dems just actually answer a question directly without throwing up some lame diversion and skirt the issue? Because the general public wouldn't like the answer, that's why. His healthcare plan would bankrupt our system, his foreign policies are the equivalent of falling on our sword, and he spends all of his time tearing down everything good about America and replacing it with filth. And for all of that, we get kindergartners chanting his name in school. My son is in kindergarten, and if I ever hear he's chanting Obama in school, I'll be down there in a hot second. Next we'll have 40" bronze statues of him in every major city in the country.

Then you obviously haven't taken a good hard look at his policies or what they'll do to this country in the long-run.

This is exactly true. Its much easier to point the blame finger and get the focus off the real issue.

I wasnt pointing the blame finger, or racist finger, I was saying, that saying someone is a certain color of a new jersey accent is being about as retarded as they come. So suddenly an entire state is black because they have a new jersey accent. Makes sense.

clap, clap, clap. Glad you guys got the thinking caps on. Im out.

Running away from the issue? Typical liberal as we've just discussed.

Yeah. I also have preferences about car colors and flavors of ice cream. Who I hang out with has somehow become a much bigger deal.

I personally have positive bias toward Asian folks...I have had lots of great Asian friends over the years and like to travel over there. Should we fix *that* bias too, while we're at?

Has nobody learned that politics+mitsustlye=FTL!!!! Every other week someone brings up some politcal issue and expects nobodys panties to get up in a bunch. Politics and religion are straight stupid topics to discuss on a forum, nothing gets accomplished.

Ok since I got called out by Kracka, Im not running from any issue. I was just getting tired of trying to get an answer for what a black person is SUPPOSED to "sound like".

And Mloker, if you dont believe in the country you live in, then why live there. That would be similar to using a product you dont believe in, or a following a religion you dont believe in. Im not trying to make the USA sound like a cult or religion but there is a reason people are called Patriots. Its because they believe in the country, and what the country stands for.

In fact, if you didnt read earlier, Im totally for peoples individual freedoms, just not at the expense of others, also, tolerance, and logic would be nice. You cant expect to walk into a catholic church and throw down your blanket, face to the east and praise Allah without getting some flak.

That shit shouldn't be in schools.

With that comment said:
-How can you say Matt D is racist? He drives a black car.
-Viridionplague, I could tell you were white because of your bright white letters in your name.
-Matt, I don't know if I would say Goodheart has a clue :D

Politics= Who cares
I mainly just try to help the losing team with the political battles on here.

A black person sounds black. What more do you want said? Same way black people say a white person sounds white, an Asian person sounds Asian, etc. These of course are not always accurate but I think you know exactly what people are getting at and just want to cause a stir and play the race card a few times.

And we sound Minnesotan and people down south sound like they're from the south, who cares. If you want to cry about someone guessing one's ethnicity, take it to another thread, this one was about children chanting Obama's name. Let's actually talk about that instead of blowing smoke up everyone's starfish about something else.

Ebonics. Think about it. How did the name for that "slang" come about?

Either way, I agree that that crap doesn't belong in schools. Keep politics out of the classroom until the student chooses if they want to take part in a class based on politics.

Re: Indoctrination in our schools?

Haha oh man this is humorous.

This thread should not be focused on color, but the messed up praising of Obama. I can see how it was thrown off, and Matt probably should have left that comment out of the first post but who cares?

I dunno how I feel about saying black people sound different. Some do, some dont. Some songs on the radio, mostly women, I cant tell if some are black or white.

In this instance that only applies to the topic because a black person typically is more pro obama than a white person, and thats due to "the man," it seems.

I'm sick of people attacking Fox News. Yes, it is a right-wing media outlet, but so what? All the others are left-wing so it really doesn't matter since none of them are neutral parties! You never here us attacking CNN, NBC, etc. but all you guys bitch about is OMG Fox News blah blah blah! They're all biased in one way or the other so pick the one you agree with most and read it, but don't attack others for reading the one that most closely matches their personal opinions.

Jesus Christ you are some snappy motherfuckers. Smiley = Sarcasm/Joke. How is what I said in any way, shape, or form an attack on Fox News?

I'm not left or right winged, and I haven't liked any of the presidents since I was born.

To say Fox news leans right just as far as all the other media outlets lean left is pretty bullshit. Fox represents the EXTREME right wing a lot of the time, the liberal media doesn't swing nearly as far left in most cases.

Matt D, who is this "you people" you speak of?

They do, alot of people who watch just don't notice it as much. (much like people who watch Fox news probably don't notice)

The liberal bias stations tend to not report news that doesn't fit thier adgenda.

I watch both, and do lots of reading on the crap I actually care about. The right seems to blow it much more out of proportion in general than the left to fit their agenda. Hell, I can't blame them, they almost have to these days.

Can say the same exact thing about the liberal media.

Goat Blower 09-25-2009 01:51 PM

Re: Indoctrination in our schools?

Actually, the lib media doesn't report on most things that should actually be "news", like Acorn, they just sweep it under the rug. And then they give the mic to retards like Jimmy Carter and Walter Mondale about how everybody that opposes Obama is somehow racist. That's the garbage CNN, etc blow out of proportion.

And for the record, I watch both to see both sides, and neither is neutral by any means. Fox is as far right as the rest are far left, there's no difference. Saying any different is naiveity.

People who constantly use the excuse of "you quoted such and such media source therefore your opinion is invalid", such as what tpunx did during the presidential campaign when I posted stuff from Youtube, CNN, Reuters and so on.

So, indoctrination in our schools... Real issue or not?

Guess what, I have news for everyone, black, white, yellow, brown, we're all racist to one extent or another! If you say otherwise you're either ignorant or just plain dumb. Playing the race card no matter what color you are is just an excuse to drag the focus away from the real issue at hand when you either feel threatened or have nothing productive to say.

Re: Indoctrination in our schools?

Its sad that media outlets have become left or right-winged, and then have to defend themselves and be attacked because of it...wouldn't it be better if they were just neutral, and reported the news? They've become biased informants, just like the German media did during the rise of hitler. He paid them off and blamed WW2 on the Jews....hrm, maybe the taliban actually has something cool they're trying to hide from us...like bagels or something.

Does anyone care if I close this topic though? Everyone must bring their most important issues from here to never-neverland into these threads that are so far off-topic it makes people's head spin...with everyone's head spinning, everyone forgets that this is a car forum!

Should I make a politics forum? :) If so, does the gun thread belong in there? ;)

Kids being proud and supportive of their president? Yep. I support it. I dont see the "indoctrination" that everyone else sees. Its about the same to me as if they were singing about Frosty the Snowman, or Bob the freaking Builder.

You guys just take shit way out of context. I broke the song down earlier on. Go have a read and let me know what you think.

If the kids were singing about Bush I would still be all for it, I would think they were a tad misguided and tarded, buuut Im not gunna knock the kids for showing pride in their President and Nation.

Its not like they have a picture of barrack hanging in the cafeteria and every day are saying the pledge of alligence to him, and offering up some goats for the sacraficial slaughter. It was two freaking songs. OMFG, the world is going to fucking explode in a firey ball of communism and anti-capitalism and then all our souls will be consumed by the anti-christ that is Barrack Obama, and then he will karate chop Jesus in the neck and pee on santan, then bend Muhhamed over a chair.

Let it go people. Its not brainwashing.

You forgot to bold the part where I said, "ITS NOT LIKE". But thats ok. Selective bolding works better to your cause. Congrats. You know how to use the internets to your advantage and now anyone who didnt bother to read my entire post will only see the bolded part and fall onto your side. Again, congrats on that one.

Also, I really dont see how them singing a song about Frosty the Snowman, or Santa Clause is in any way different then singing a song about the president. In fact I would assume its better as they can actually have someone real to beleive in versus a fictional character that climbs down your chimney in the middle of the night and gives you presents and eats your cookies cuz its Jesus' birthday.

Besides if you cant sense sarcasm when its that obvious, then a sad sad life you lead.
