|
Re: Spyder in the making
This thing is looking damn nice!
|
Re: Spyder in the making
Damn! Great work! That has come a long way!
|
Re: Spyder in the making
Is that wrinkle black on the VC?
|
Re: Spyder in the making
Thanks guys! Yes that is wrinkle black on the valve cover. I've always had a thing for wrinkle valve covers. I've got like 4 other spare valve covers. 1 is wrinkle red, 1 is black, and other 2 are stock colors. No more wrinkles for me but I do want a shaved polished one, white one, gold one, and a purple one.
Hopefully sometime within the 2 weeks I'll have the wiring all done. I still have to order an OMNI MAP sensor, GM IAT sensor with pigtails, and a few little parts before I can start her up. I can't wait til that day. |
Re: Spyder in the making
What is your plan for the wiring?
Engine bay looks really good. |
Re: Spyder in the making
get rid of that 1g intake manifold ;)
|
Re: Spyder in the making
Sorry, I've been too busy to update this. It's almost there. Just gotta find the small errors before start up. I wish I have money for JMF drag intake manifold and a purple Tial BOV. And then a top mount turbo setup with built trans. Maybe next year's tax return.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...e/IMG_0475.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...e/IMG_0474.jpg I will eventually switch over to speed density once I get that bung welded onto my intercooler piping. And the wires hanging out there are for temporary until I get some nice sleeves. |
Re: Spyder in the making
*thumbs up*
engine bay looks friggin' spotless!! I like the wrinkled valve cover. |
Re: Spyder in the making
That is one DAMN clean engine bay. Props dude.
|
Re: Spyder in the making
Looking good as usual! Give me a call before the first start up!
|
Re: Spyder in the making
Any updates dude?
|
Re: Spyder in the making
Guess I should update. The car itself is just sitting in the garage until it's warmer out. I got her started up a few times last fall. Picked up some RPF1's to be like everyone else. They are stupid light. Haven't really done anything this winter but collect some parts. Right now I'm still trying to get a catch can setup. Also looking for a sheet metal intake manifold. I need to get my intercooler pipe welded for the Tial flange bov and IAT sensor. Trying to get rid of the blue silicone coupler and getting all black. I've got that broken bolt on the lower control arm that I still need to remove. Anyone have any tips? Anyways here are pictures.

Re: Spyder in the making
That thing is lookin tits dude. If you have a 1g head, I still have's John's SMIM that would be pretty kick ass on that setup also. What turbo is that anyways? I noticed it was a Schwitzer/Borg Warner
|
Re: Spyder in the making
The turbo is from Lor and Seng's spyder way back in 05/06 when they first bought the car. Some kind of Schwitzer/Borg Warner S200 with the mitsu housing. 50 trim I guess you can say. I'm kind of looking at a new turbo also. Top mount is wanting to be installed in the engine bay. But I'm definitely gonna rock this 50 trim with the FP manifold this summer.

Re: Spyder in the making
My next purchase will probably be the front knuckle kit. Around $200 for both front knuckle, lateral arm, and control arm with new ball joints. OEM of course. Front bumper bracket, tail light gasket, and a few other OEM parts will be ordered too. Probably replace the front wheel bearing/hub along with ARP extended wheel studs. The car has pretty much become a restoration car. I've got a lot of new OEM parts and will continue to get more.

Re: Spyder in the making
Been too broke to fix the spyder. MR2 and the DD needed some maintenance. Bought some small stuff and test fit.
Current engine bay http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...z/IMG_2792.jpg Now I need someone to help me remove that broken bolt, weld downpipe, intercooler piping. I can tow it to somebody who can help remove the bolt and weld the parts I need. |
Re: Spyder in the making
Man, your car is sick!!
|
Re: Spyder in the making
Car looks good for sure. Are you keeping the rear widebody?
|
Re: Spyder in the making
Thanks. I have no choice right now but to keep the widebody. No $$$ to remove it right now.
|
Re: Spyder in the making
Lookin really good man!
|
Re: Spyder in the making
|
Re: Spyder in the making
are those slicks? Not a fan of the body kit but still looks to be coming along well. Congrats!
|
Re: Spyder in the making
Yes those are slicks. Came with the wheels. Body work cost too much money. I'm too concentrated on buying OEM parts.
|
Re: Spyder in the making
Honestly, even WITH the body kit the car looks bad ass. I'm not going to lie. I loves those EDM 'tails too!
Another thing; I want your front bumper! lol |
Re: Spyder in the making
I think a decent sideskirt would make it not look bad at all. Then again, I'm a sucker for widebodies.
|
Re: Spyder in the making
Absolutely LOVE how the engine bay looks! So clean!
|
Re: Spyder in the making
Damn that is clean. Get it on the dyno and get it to the cookout!
|
Re: Spyder in the making
I'm actually really diggin the whole body kit except for the front bumper, something about it just doesn't seem right. I think less front lip and moar low might help a bit too. Car looks good though man!
|
Re: Spyder in the making
Need more purple
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y14...z/DSC00594.jpg |
Re: Spyder in the making
I have always wanted purpled HKS cam gears. Thats pretty fucking awesome.
Now if only you woulda scrapped the body kit. Good job overall, I think you have done a lot of good quality mods and really made the car nicer. I remember that car back in it's heyday. |
Re: Spyder in the making
Man this is an awesome build.
|
Re: Spyder in the making
Not much update. I guess it was time for a catch can setup. Just bought a wrinkle black Frontline Fab catch can last week. Should be here tomorrow. Still need to buy the fittings and lines. Looked up the prices and it's going to cost over $150 for the fittings and lines alone. Also bought a powdercoated red valve cover with 1/2 NPT threads, new front hubs, and thermostat housing+water pipe with -16AN. When the time is right I will switch to an aluminum radiator with -16AN. Looks like I'll be ordering my next batch of OEM parts tonight or tomorrow.
Same as this one but powdercoated wrinkle black. http://www.frontlinefabrication.com/...ters%201_1.jpg |
