Camping is included with the two day pass :) The $35 per night is for RV's and such that require electricity, etc.

It will be in time attack format, probably three consecutive laps. We're still working out timing, etc.

It is sport compact only unfortunately, I think a Porsche would pass but probably not a Viper :(

That is fine. I heard a vette ran last year, so I wasn't sure if you were going to keep it fairly open or try to keep it SC. Good luck with the event.

I don't think the 'vette ever did run last year. The one I'm thinking about showed up on Saturday and tech wouldn't let it race. Maybe there was one on Friday that was running, I don't remember.

I think their were a few domestics running that were friends of BIR personnel, unfortunately we don't have any control over who they let run or not :(

I was planning on pitching a tent-I mean camping, but a condo would be damn nice. Looks like there are some nice couches to crash on. We could probably fit 4 or more people in one. Depending on if people would crash on the floor. I also have an air mattress I could bring too. Cause $175/night is way over my budget, but we could do a "group discount".

And I camped out last year, was a damn good time.

Were you there for the E85 supplied campfire? Had a great time camping with some mitsustyle folks and wandering around after midnight to see who was still up working on their cars.

On the camping thing, I need my shower the next morning so I'm not sure what is going on, plus I think an individual here might be celebrating his last night of freedom with us at the track, although he is whipped/chained already.

Hmmm, I've got two imports, so I'll probably be driving the one that runs. Is the road course set up as the short or long course? I'm thinking short if there's drag racing running simultaneously.

If they are using the strip at the same time, it will be the short course. The long course includes the drag strip. Still should be able to go 130s on the short course.

I believe I was gone before that happened, trying to drive 1.5miles with a busted rear axle haha. Only made it as far as motel haha.

Acording to BIR's schedule the Jags Midwest Diesel Challenge is going on at the same time as the Proving Grounds. How will this work? I wouldnt mind wooping up on some of my buddies with Diesel trucks. Will it be allowed?

My understanding is that the diesel group will be on the smaller side and only running on Saturday for a short period of time.

Question for all that go or have been to BIR:

I've got my battery relocated in the rear of my talon. It's secure in an externally vented box. Do you think they are going to require me to have an external battery shutoff switch to pass tech for the drag track?

I believe it's an NHRA requirement, but not sure how strict the tech is. I'd rather not have to cut a hole in my car, but I will if I have too, I guess...
