I have never gone 200mph in real life but I'm sure it doesn't feel like goin' 40mph lol. I'm sure there is ALOT going on at 200mph...ugh...just wanna play the game now and go 200mph just for the hell of it but im stuck at work :P lol. Like what Matt D. said too, you may just need more surrounding environment to 'feel' that speed. Or something like this!! haha! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=17Cmel8rvjU |
Re: GT5: anyone get it?
idk, back when I played GT4 last, I usually sat in my cheap little rocking style gaming chair approx 4' from my 47" TV with the surround sound turned up fairly high.

Re: GT5: anyone get it?
Jake and I took my viper srt-10 acr to 230mph in the game and it didn't seem like we were going 40 mph lol.

Re: GT5: anyone get it?
I haven't played a lot of GT5 yet, but I did play a lot of GT3 the last couple weeks and GT5 does drive different. GT5 with the controller sucks, but I wouldn't want to play any driving game with a controller after playing on halfway decent steering wheel/pedal setups. I usually play with no traction control, no ASM, none of the other aids besides a little ABS and with the steering wheel on simulation mode and it seemed noticeably harder to keep a few of the cars I drove on the road at first. I am disappointed in that the track creator seems to mostly just be a random track creator from what I have read.

You guys make me want to get a wheel now for it :( lol

Re: GT5: anyone get it?
You can probably get the Logitech Driving force GT wheel/pedals for $100 or less online. It's pretty good and a lot cheaper than the G27.

Agreed the more I read the more I want one. I guess I haven't played GT3 in awhile, but it reminds me much more of GT3 than GT4 as a game, I didn't like how GT4 was set up. |
Re: GT5: anyone get it?
Shane is my man. If you play the game with all of the assists on, like steering assist, skid control, traction etc etc, and then you complain about "rubbery" feel.. LOL If you want some realism, turn that shit off.

Re: GT5: anyone get it?
LOL. I think it was just too long for this game to be released. hahah, everyone expected a game like forza. I do agree that the AI is prettty lame-sauce in GT5. As for the standard and premium cars, you can REALLY tell the difference, which does suck BUT would you wait another year or 2 for all 800 other standard cars to be released in premium? I don't know, I wouldn't. I'm pretty sure there are some small "bugs" that need to be cleaned up like loading times, ai intelligence, pixelated cars, etc.
To me, I think the game feels 75-80% finished. It's missing something but maybe that's because there is a 'level' thing now. |

Hopefully the patches start fixing a lot of these issues.

Re: GT5: anyone get it?
I bought this saturday, I have played 15min, and its a lot harder then GT 1-4. I am thinking of picking up a good wheel and setting up a "simulator" with a race seat.

Re: GT5: anyone get it?
I'm also seriously thinking about getting or building me a wheel/seat setup. I should take a picture of how I'm playing it right now lmao. It's a joke how I'm playing it. BTW...just found out that you can't upgrade your brakes... *facepalm*
|
Re: GT5: anyone get it?
It is very frustrating you cant upgrade the brakes, I do agree. I did find however last night that the brake distribution is set up 50/50 and can be adjusted!, and my cars back end would come out on me in a hard brake. I turned it to 70/30 and it completely changed the car i was driving.
Also saw this yesterday... GT5 creator reveals fixes in the works, more functionality comingby Jeff Glucker (RSS feed) on Dec 1st 2010 at 6:32PM Gran Turismo 5 has been pretty polarizing, right out of the gate. Some diehard fans are so excited that it's here, they may not care about the obvious issues the game has at launch. On the other end of the spectrum, some folks are quick to deride the racing sim as being terrible when that's far from true. The reality is that Gran Turismo 5 falls somewhere in between these two extreme points of view. It is pretty amazing, while its flaws are clearly visible. Creator Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed that fixes are planned, and should arrive by early December. What exactly do these fixes include? Mechanical damage will be added to the existing cosmetic damage, the "blocky shadows" will be resolved, online functionality will be increased and the ability to disable the HUD is mentioned as a possible option. Whatever your gripes with the game may be, it's nice to hear that Polyphony Digital is listening. The ability to implement fixes and dole them out by way of a download is a far cry better from the old days of waiting for the next generation game. Re: GT5: anyone get it?
That's good to hear, hopefully it'll help people like myself enjoy it more.
Is the brake bias adjustable on all cars or only certain ones? |
Re: GT5: anyone get it?
I think its all cars. It was a "standard" car i changed it on.
on a side note, purchased my first evo last night. picked up a 1999 Evo V in white. modded it to 390 hp.... and i dominated the 90's Japanese cup! |
Re: GT5: anyone get it?
What all versions of Evo's are on this game? I was kinda dissapointed that Forza only had an VIII MR, IX MR, and X GSR as far as the Evo's that ever came to the states. I would have liked an VIII or IX RS, or at least a JDM version. I wanted to make my car and of course...no JDM rear bumper :(

here is a link to all the cars in the game

Re: GT5: anyone get it?
The only way to go if you want an actual simulation game is PC.
Live for Speed > rFactor for regular racing, and nothing can even come close to touching Richard Burns Rally with RSRBR2010 for rally racing. Richard Burns Rally is easily the most fun to play game of all time with a decent wheel/pedal setup. I love my Driving Force Pro, but I kind of want to upgrade to a G25/G27. |
Re: GT5: anyone get it?
So, I went to scheides to help out for a bit tonight, and left Rachael playing GT5. I came home to find out she had saved a replay for me too see, she drifted a corner really nicely. She then proceeds to say "I like watching the replays after... because its like looking in a mirror while having sex!" LOL

Re: GT5: anyone get it?
LOL he pulled a Scheides!
I'm really liking GT5 though, sure it has a few odd flaws but 1. its a game! 2. what game doesn't? It's a lot of fun. I have one more test to pass and I'll have my National A license and I already have a modded white IX and modded white X. The in-game X has the SST transmission and they did a really good job of recreating the interior. |
