Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
What type of fuel management / measurement strategy are you using? N Alpha, Speed Density, Mass Air Flow? and if you are using a MAF whitch one? Oh and that Q45 TB kicks ass.

That was a joke.
How about a Granatelli’s Bullet Converter? |
Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
Speed density, no MAF, 5 bar map sensor.

Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
damn! those are insane numbers man! Insane! Love it dude. When's it going to be ready? Wanna see that DSM run at Rock Falls sometimes. Sweet.

Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
Bow down to the Master Blaster.
Great to see the numbers, sorry to hear about the damage. :( |
Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
You know that other people are use to getting beat by DSMs, but the sweet smack down, that you can do with that car just brings a tear to my eye, and to the person you beat. One more thing,Do you have an “RS” sticker?

Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
Shane, sequential shifter. No more missed shifts and you get to them quicker. The basic ones are way simpler than I would have thought. They use a drum and ratchet to click the gears and have groves cut on a plate or drum to work the factory cables to where they would have been on a h- pattern.
P.S. Wow on the numbers and to bad on the run. |
Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
Worked on the car some this weekend. Pulled a lot of parts out of the head, but the valves don't look too bad. When I pulled the transfer case off, the output shaft pulled out of the tranny a bit and started pouring our fluid, so my little aluminum TRE VC eliminator either broke or fell off. There were some more rocker parts in the oil pan as expected. I didn't feel any signs of spun rod bearing from wiggling the rod caps. I pulled one of them off and the bearing looked ok, some of the white coating had worn off, but that is something I would expect.
|
Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
Well, hopefully the lower end is ok. I take it the head isn't off yet? Hopefully those valves turn out ok too! I want to see that thing back at the track sometime this summer.
|
Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
Shane what were you running for springs and retainers? Was anything ARP besides your head studs?
|
Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
I have Crower springs/retainers, I only rev to 8500, except when I shift into the wrong gear, so I haven't need anything crazy for springs.. The rods came with ARP rod bolts.

Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
Well its been somewhat good news so far let hope those valves are ok and that the lower end is fine too!

Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
I guess we'll see if there is real damage once the head and tranny come off, best of luck.

Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
Talk about a smack down, I WAS happy to 365 "est HP" off my DSMLINK this past weekend!
"I am not worthy"............:-> Super Work Shane! |
Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
I heard the dsmlink hp ratings aren't very accurate and I am pretty sure you don't have that hp with your setup. Especially since it is an auto.

Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.

No, I'm talking about new developments as far as the damage.

Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
The car is ready to re-dyno and see if it is down on power as soon as I find a shifter. Cylinder #4, the one that didn't have the rockers pop off, has lower compression than the rest of the cylinders. Fixed some broken parts in the tranny also. The motor and tranny sound okay again with the car running.

Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
Very nice!

Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.

Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
If anyone is bored and wants to help, I am going to try to dyno the car today. I need to pick up some tranny fluid, change it and the oil and move some cars around. I should be up there around 2pm or so. Stop by or give me a call at the shop. 612-521-0550 Shane

Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.

Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
Thanks to Jim for getting me a shifter and Craig, Andy & Justin for helping me all day long with one problem after another.
|
Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
No problem, hopefully them last two boost leaks were all there were. Get that MSD in there ASAP, I am kinda thinking we were on the verge of maxing out that stock ignition if its not already.

Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
You're welcome Shane. I think I got the other 1/2 of the FMIC welded up :D If they would have been welded up from the get go, you might have already hit your magic number. I am just glad to see that it still runs good!
|
Re: Dynoed my car before I broke it.
No problem. It was fun being up there and helping you out.
