Re: 91 Galant VR4
The turbo is 45lbs, the exhaust manifold and WG's are another 40lbs, the W/A intercooler core, heat exchanger, lines, pump, and 4 gallons of water another 100lbs. That is about 185lbs total, but is weight that needs to be there, other wise I make no OMG hp, o wait I do not make OMG hp, zing.

Re: 91 Galant VR4
shut it john. It's still more then 97% of people out there, and on this board. and it seems to work well together. It's been fun watching/helping were I can, seeing this go from stands/white bay, to the tubed moon taxi grocery getter it is now. Mount up those 2 rear seats, and make it an amusement park ride...
John's Moon Taxi service..coming to an on-ramp near you..;) |
Re: 91 Galant VR4
Back OT, I found a few 1/4 mile calculators and they say 8.8@153mph with 2600lbs and 740whp. So to address Brown mans question, I wanted 600whp, check, now I want to get as close to 8.8@153mph as I can then add more power.

Re: 91 Galant VR4
You got a link to those 1/4 mile calculators?
BTW, B.I.R. has wed night drags on the 4th and 25th and a Bracket racing weekend on the 21-22nd also. |
Re: 91 Galant VR4
Mike, BIR on wednesday nights require you to run street tires and a full exhaust.
|
Re: 91 Galant VR4
I thought you needed to have exhaust that exits behind the driver to run on Wed night drags, My BFG tires are street tires but also they do NO track prep so I would slide all over. I have lined up a trailer for the 7th at Rock falls.

Re: 91 Galant VR4
John, I have nothing going on that day if you'd like a helping hand or some moral support.

Re: 91 Galant VR4
According to that I should be 9.2 @ 145. haha
Good luck at the track, should be cool to see what it can run. |
Re: 91 Galant VR4
So based on the numbers, C3L1CA your car was 16% slower on the ET and 3.5% slower on the MPH. Based on that I should be in the 10.2@147mph range. What tires and 60ft did you have at the track? The fastest GVR4 is a 9.5xx@something slowish like 145.

Re: 91 Galant VR4
Nice! That should be close to mid 700's on MAP's dyno.

Re: 91 Galant VR4
I'm pumped for track day, so far so good?
Get any street time on it? |
Re: 91 Galant VR4
I have about 122 miles on this new setup, plus 5 gallons of E-85 for tuning. I have only gotten on it 2 times, both in 2nd gear. The car pulls straight and I can down shift into 2nd at high way speed.
