Well, it's something I didn't think of at first. Is this not a place one posts problems? I guess if anything it's just more shit that every asshole on this board can use against me.

I'm an asshole. Glad to hear it runs well. That would make 2 car with serious hp potential are alive tonight

is it gonna take 60 psi? 30 sure didn't do it.

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

^lol. When you making a comeback? I luv that sc its gorgeous. when will that get some psi?

Thanks. Comeback? meh. Over it. If anything, I'll buy someone's 1g some day and just redo it with better parts. I don't see how it's rocket science to try and make power.

To stay on topic, I think 60 psi, 100 trim and a parachute might fix all the problems.

turbotalon1g 07-15-2010 11:57 AM

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

^I worded that wrong, i guess "join in teh fun" might be better I would love to see a quick SC around here.

OT, I think smaller turbo would be more fun, 800 can be made on a 35r, but hell as long as he breaks 500 at DB it would be sweet.

I havent been in anything that has broken 370whp there I think.

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

Sorting out bugs, at my pace. I'd like to see if the things I've changed have really effected the tune at all, but I guess that takes some of shane's time and money. I guess we will see.

Set the 2-step up..6200rpms..wasnt enough to build boost. 6700 it SEEMS to want to start building boost. turbo is definatly spooling though. I'm curious as to either raising it some more, or try and get a little more "rapid bounce" in the limiter. in the AEM it's set to level 10 hard cut, ignition cut at 6700 rpm, fuel cut at 8200 rpm (I was told you want higher fuel cut then ignition so you dont go lean for that moment when it bounces at the top, since injectors can get a bit "laggy" in the way they spray..I dunno..was just told this). Any ideas from you tuning gurus?

Matt D. 07-15-2010 06:45 PM

Re: Swifty's never-ending project thread!

Ignition cutting before fuel means that fuel is still spraying when there is no spark, which is what you want in order to spool the turbo. Beyond that, who knows.

Like I told you on facebook. Retard your timing to creat load :) Load= boost!! ;)

Doesn't matter anymore. Felt slow as shit after I raced this mazda last night (beat it, duh!) but in pulling the "filter" off, in and out play. Looks like the turbo needs ANOTHER rebuild.

You going to have to deal with the same guy?

Time to buy a real turbo from a real vendor and actually run a proper filter on it.

In the amount of time and money you've spent trying to get these turbo's from no-name vendors to work, you could have bought a nice one from a company with good customer service.

uhg.

Jesus...leave the man alone, I am sure he isn't happy the turbo doesn't work already, doesn't need everyone giving him crap, lol.

With ya on this one, not like swifty crawled in the turbo and fucked it up on purpose, shit happens. I do agree with getting a new turbo, from a vendor, to give you a little insurance on it not blowing to shit again. I wouldn't spend another minute with that company you have been dealing with (unless its to get the turbo rebuilt and selling it). I recall URV8SUX saying something about selling his turbo in the shoutbox (sorry, I don't know your name, screename will have to do haha), his seems to work fine

LMFAO! Gotta admit, that was well played!

Swiftmeister, sorry man. :( Time for better oil pressure monitoring at the turbo inlet or something? Gah that sucks.

meh. After all the advice given, all the I'm gonna do this and that, I'm gonna billet billet billet, and then half ass purchasing a no-name "GT42" and having it fuck up. Ummm. I'd say:

a. Take people's advice if you're gonna ask and have it simply just work
b. Take the shit you put on yourself because you skimp on a turbo and buy things out-of-logical order things and have no money left (fire suit, cage(the car hasn't even seen a time slip before), 20 gauges, -AN this and that, 50 different FMICs, etc.)

That's just my ten cents.

Maybe it's finally time for a turbo with a legitimate warranty. It really isn't that hard to put these cars together to make easy power...

Seriously though, how the fuck does a rebuilt turbo have fucking shaft play within a 100 miles? Even if its a piece of shit knock off, it should last awhile longer than that. I could see one doing it, but two in a row, come on.
