^Can't....stock one is long gone, the original SSP one used parts from the stock one, so I threw out the stock one :)

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

Danny told me today that they got the Magnus one in on Friday...apparently it sucked the big one getting it in and they had to take it out and flip it around after they realized you can install it two different ways, lol.

Regardless, I shouldn't have to worry about that ever again which makes me happy.

So I am really really hoping today they can finish up all the ECM brackets and wiring and.......start it up!

Crapski!

I totally forgot, lol. Well then I would assume that they finished buttoning it up...I hope :) Danny on Friday said the ECU bracket and ECU were all they needed to put back together (aside from the CMC which they finished Friday).

Maybe tomorrow I will get to see an idle vid, I wanna see if my new cams finally get it an Uber lope!

Ugh, just got back from DB a few mins ago. Was there since like 5, lol.

Meanwhile in the back, mine hadn't started yet and I was pathetically trying to help them troubleshoot a wiring issue. Danny figured it out eventually after a light bulb turned on, lol. Apparently Mitsu likes to use the same connector for the starter solenoid as it does for the AC...so when we were trying to crank the car we were actually trying to turn the ac on, lol.

Regardless, tomorrow morning they are starting the car and will do some break in. If there are no leaks I should still be able to pick the car up from DB after work. (praying)

Apparently they were troubleshooting these electrical problem for hours over the last two days, gremlins suck!

Indeed. I still can't believe they were throwing the s2000 on the dyno after I left at midnight. I know danny had a install at 9am today too, so I have to imagine he is running on fumes.

Cool night time air is worth more whp to a S2k than an exhaust, that's why :D

I'm guessing it was Charles' S2k since they've had it for some time now... That car's ridiculous no matter what the IATs are.

It's the silver one, it was pretty sweet looking. Great turbo setup on there.

Some asshole stole my SR20 since they pull a premium so I can't go.

Side Note: It is laughable how much the 4b11 and sr20 have in common they are so similarly designed.

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

Well not picking the car up today, but it is indeed alive! They changed the oil already on it and it has been running :) Danny said all appears well, they just couldn't get it on the dyno because one customer took a long time and the S2000 is still on there I guess...but no worries from me, I am just fucking pumped its running finally. Danny is going to break it in next week starting on monday, he said probably monday afternoon/evening they would get it on the dyno and he was going to drive it to and from work etc to help with break in since I will be out of town for work.

Danny said maybe they will even have it tuned when i get back :)

Car appears to be running fine right now. Danny has been driving it to and from work since I was out of town.

Car hits the rollers Friday morning for the final tune!

Hopefully all goes well and the 4b11 stops giving me problems :)

Nope just got back like an hour ago. I tried calling Danny but he was on the other line. I kinda want to drive it tonight and tomorrow then drop it off either in the morning early on Friday or Thursday night...to get a few more break in miles on it and I just want to hear it/drive it!

How's it feel to be back in it? Does it run fairly smooth or is the base tune pretty rough?

Well emotionally it feels unbelievable!

Driving wise, pretty surprising actually. It is very smooth. The new CMC seems to engage the clutch awfully high right now, taking some getting used to for sure and Danny was trying to adjust it when i picked it up yesterday as he noticed something similar i assume. The tranny is super precise and I would venture that is because of the AMS front motor mount...it just seems to lock into gear now perfectly...at low rpm easy shifting anyway.

However if you don't give enough gas or miss shift even a little the car will let you know (again because of the AMS i assume)...it is a pretty violent shutter, lol.

Idle is pretty crazy right now with the cams and the new intake...Shane said the intake wasn't scaled perfect just yet. But just cruising around it feels amazing.

Congrats, I'll be looking out for you now since you don't drive something that everyone else has, like a honda. lol

Did you get the AMS 70A? I'm in the process of trying to find someone to make me a 60A.

I got a flu shot today and have run a fever since. Maybe you could try that one. Lol

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

I swear flu shots make more people sick than they prevent from getting sick...hence why I don't get them. Great excuse though, use it!

Re: Dave's Evo X Build/The Life of Dave blog

Just called in sick :( I really feel like poo now and didn't get my flu shot yet, thats next week at work, they bring someone in to do it. But now i get to hang out on the dyno all day feeling like shet but maybe some good numbers will make me all better.

I think i got sick from traveling...air planes suck for getting sick.

^ good luck on the dyno! There is a bad cold going around it seems, I had one last week. They bring someone in to give us flu shots as well its really nice to not have to go out and get one. I havent gotten sick from one yet!
