Re: my new project
So i drove the car to work yesterday. All seems to be good. There still seemed to be an exhaust leak on my way home so when I got there I was able to tighten up the vband quite a bit so hopefully that takes care of it.
Also the only other issue is that my oil pressure is really high. It's been just about pegged at 100psi cruising at 3k rpms. On my way home it was down around 75psi at 3500rpms so that's a good sign not sure if the oil pumps need to be broken in or what not. I have almost 200 miles on it since getting it running again. So plans for this weekend are to port the oil relief valve in the ofh and switch to a good 40wt oil vs the 50wt I have in it now. Then check everything over to make sure it's ready for the dyno next Tuesday. |
Re: my new project

Awesome! Just let me know

Re: my new project
I ported the pressure relief valve in my ofh and it seems to be a success cold start oil pressure was 50-60 psi compared to pegging the gauge at 100psi before. Just gotta finish putting it back together and drive it and see how it is when it's warmed up

Re: my new project
So the oil pressure situation is in check. It used to pegging the gauge at 100psi at 3500rpms. Now I'm seeing 75psi at 5k rpms. I snugged up the bolts on the front case some and made sure all the fittings in my ofh were tight But there is still an oil leak. I think the front case will have to come off to fix it :-\. Nothing I can do about it now. I just have to drain the fuel fill it up with fresh e85 and swap to the 40wt oil I have then she's ready for the dyno tomorrow

And I didn't :-\. I should have. Idk why I didn't. There is a lot of info on tuners about it. I basically just used a small carbide bit and widened and elongated the hole. It's pretty easy. If its something you're going to do and want a hand let me know |
Re: my new project
Yet another trip to the dyno and yet another failure. Apparently the right rear axle was broken so we couldn't do anything with it today. I'm fed up with the car so said screw it and am just going to have db fix it. The next tune date is set for august 6th
