Wow. You should get a timing chain, they are baller and never fail like that. What prevented you from just sliding it back on?

Re: My Winter Upgrades

Look closely at the second picture. You will see that the bolt for the tensioner pulley is backed halfway out. And that is allowing the pulley to move around, which was why the belt was sliding off.

Had to replace that bolt with a new one as that bolt backed out, and the threads got all fucked up on it.

Wow! Nice trap speed! Very impressive time/speed for your first time ever to the strip!

t'was a great day at the track to have seen your virginity being popped. Too bad that clutch didn't like launches..a 10 MIGHT have been had.

Re: My Winter Upgrades

What clutch are you running?

Re: My Winter Upgrades

Running a Fidanza 4.3. Overall seems to hold my power very well, but it was pretty apparent today that it hates launching. 3 of my 6 runs I had to cut short because of the clutch slipping. I don't put all the blame on the clutch, as I'm sure I'm not launching perfectly and slipping it a little too much at the launch. But on the last two passes, I felt like I didn't really slip it too much, and still it just wouldn't hold.

So a different clutch may be in the future.

Otherwise, yeah for my first time ever, I am extremely happy with those times. I know in time, with some more experience and seat time, I should be able to knock a few tenths off and be into the 10's.

Maybe a cage will have to be in my future also...

Again, freaking impressive trap dude, the car has a 10 in it for sure. Vid looks great!

This experience also made me realise that I need some better brakes. Slowing down from 135 is interesting on stock brakes...

Re: My Winter Upgrades

Let me know if you want some brake info/advice. I spent a bunch of time researching for my DSM's, S2k, and Evo.

Very nice time/mph Brandon! Sucks to hear about your clutch, hopefully you can get that sorted out. And yeah, stock brakes definitely aren't the best when you're running those kind of speeds.

Great time for a first time and excellent trap speed. That car is a monster for sure.

Thanks to Kerry for letting me sit in his Eclipse and try out his 2900. I haven't pushed on a 2600 in awhile, but it almost felt a hair lighter then a 2600 if my memory serves me correctly.

Definately the clutch I'm going to go with.
