Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!
It's been a productive weekend so far! Dr. ColorChip done (see my thread on that), and replaced the transmission fluid and differential gear oil. I used the OEM stuff (ACDelco Dexron LS 75W-90) in the differential, but switched it up to Redline D4 ATF in the transmission. I've only taken a short test-drive so far, but the transmission already feels a little smoother than it did before. I think its a combination of both new fluid, and also the fact its a full synthetic.

Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!
Holy crap, I love this transmission fluid! It was in the 40's this morning, and these Tremecs are notoriously clunky when they get cold. Not anymore, the full synthetic fluid is obviously working well! DSMs, S2000, Evos, and now the Corvette...Redline transmission fluids never disappoint.

Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!
Good to hear! Thats the combo I just picked up too for the diff and trans.

Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!
Those pumps I had made this the slickest drivetrain fluid swap ever.

Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!

Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!
The annual state inspection has now been PASSED! Apparently the ECU just needed more miles on it to run all the system checks and tests. On a related note, since Chevy reprogrammed the car, I have to get a new custom tune done so I'll begin working on that today with my tuner. Something about the calibration ID's no longer matching. I'm hoping it's mainly just copy/pasting tables for him once I get him my new stock file.

I figured this would be a nice for the new house with two garage doors. Optional sun visor w/Homelink.

Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!
Another cross-country roadtrip in the books! I think this was #6 for the car.
We spent the past week up in northern Minnesota at my parents' house on the lake for boating, beer, and way too much sun. Overall trip, pretty good considering numerous WOT pulls while passing, messing around with my dad, etc. If I had to estimate, I would say the Z06 grille caused a 1-1.5 hit to hwy MPG (larger openings and no aero panel). http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...0723161430.jpg I found this sweet stuff in Oklahoma at exit 72 on I-35! This is the first time I've found anything better than 91 in that state. After finding it on the drive up, I stopped on the way home too. There are a few BP's in KC with 93 as well, plus a BP in Missouri with 92. Overall, I'm pretty well covered so the TX/MN trip is easy enough to take on a 93 tune for most cars. http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...0723161234.jpg Still the best burger and fries bargain around! http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...722161052a.jpg And the obligatory photoshoot... http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...61158b_HDR.jpg http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...161159_HDR.jpg http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...61157b_HDR.jpg http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...61158a_HDR.jpg http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...161157_HDR.jpg http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...61157a_HDR.jpg |
Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!
Very cool. More I think about it, more I think I should get an American v8. Just no time to tinker anymore.

Re: Meet GheyRay: Lower, Wider, Lighter!
Thats some solid mpg for a fun car! Looks like a fun trip!
