As for A cewsit card itll build you credit in general but not right away.. you can get a line of credit which is a good way to get mods for your car.. a5k loac will be like 80 a month cause you just have to pay the interest and that will build you credit as well as the credit card. But to get any real progress at all itll be at least 6 months before the no's change to yes's.

Best bet if you want yourself is to get a co signer for anything with good credit and dont fuck it up. Or just ask to cosign on somebody elses account and dont use it just so your name is attached and building interest off them.. doesnt hurt them and only gains you

Dude, please slow your typing down so it actually makes sense. Use punctuation, spell-check, and your [shift] key.

A small personal loan from a bank or, in my case, a credit line on a tool truck is the type of revolving account I was talking about. Anything where you are showing the credit bureaus that you can make monthly payments on time. The key is consistancy. Each of those type of accounts will have an accounting of how well you paid each month. If you are current and not late, it will show a "c" for each month. When they look at you credit report and see a whole line of "c" in each of the accounts, they are more than willing to give you anything you want. Just make sure you don't write bad checks and keep on top of any monthly payments that you have to make. Your credit will be built in no time.

And you have a distinct advantage to alot of us. You are still young, so you can build a huge credit score by the time you are in your early 20's and be able to have alot of nice things that most of us had to work longer for. I screwed up my credit out of high school and it took me almost 15 years to get it straightened out enough to buy a house and have a good, newer car. Just remember, what you have to do without now will only make it that much more appreciated when you can truly afford it.

Tauni...I was asking cause the company I work for (outside LSE) usually hires noobs on at $11+ for customer service jobs. It's mostly phone related, answering questions relating to peoples prescription benefits. No sales/collections/marketing.

It's in Bloomington. Let me know if you're interested and I'll keep you informed of when they're having another open house.

As far as the credit goes, everyone has an opinion, and each one is valid, but I would reccommend doing a little research of your own.

Here's a few places to start:

http://money.cnn.com/index.html?cnn=yes They have a personal finance area that also has a "Money 101" section. There's alot of information there. It would be good to browse through.

http://moneycentral.msn.com/home.asp They usually have some good articles on personal finance, and they also have a "planning" section that has a few calculators, as well as more good info.

There are a ton of other sites as well. I would suggest looking through a few of them to find some info on building your credit. I'm sure there's a few articles about moving out for the first time too, and what to realisticly expect.

Hope that helps.

You could always join the military active duty, they pay for your housing. You might actually enjoy it too!

Gotta always keep your options open.

Well I finally worked up the courage to talk everything over with my dad. He was actually proud of me for creating a plan and is ok with all of it. Let the apartment hunting begin!

Good luck Tauni, as far as I hear there arent any suitable openings for you here, unfortunately.

It always amazes me how anything you post generates 3 pages of responses in a short amount of time... hmmmm..

I'm still looking for a roommate in my place in Blaine. But the room is not quite done yet. I'm hoping to have it done in 1-2 months, and get someone to live there for not too much. I dunno how you'd feel about living with strangers though. I met you once, but dunno how well you'd feel about that.

Yeah, don't let the boy's naked poker night Brandon has weekly deter you from moving in. He's really a nice guy. :D
