Peter, you should get 550's for a few reasons.

#1. You have a 16g. To take advantage of it you need more fuel.

#2. It will help with fuel cut in your case, not directly though. Since you are adding in more fuel, you are able to take away signal via the gm maft or afc. That will steer you away from fuel cut

I am not a big fan of the gm maft for a few reasons.

#1. You turn your boost down to 13psi in 40 degree weather. 92tsiawd84 was running 21 psi on big 16g, 550's, and the SAFC on the possitive side (settings). This with just a 1g mas with the lower honeycomb and silencer removed. He didn't hit fuel cut until around 22 psi. This was also in 35-40 degree weather.

#2. The setup costs a lot of money. Why not just get a 2g mas and an SAFC? Saves alot of money over buying the piping, translator, and the gm maf.

Some cars are different then others.... Seriously.

I dont need 550s to take away signal... whats wrong with 450s...

I got the GM maft because my mas was overrunning and making my car run really rich. I made my IC piping so it cost me nothing more than just 1 UIC pipe would cost... I made both upper and lower pipes at 2.5" no one else had 2.5' so I decided to build them.

Plus I wanted to vent or be able to vent....

The reason the GM maft fuel cuts early is becuase there is ALOT more air flowing in more easily than a 2g mas or a 1g mas... Theres basically nothing in the way.

I dont know its done.

I work at the Ford Plant in St.Paul if you were talking to me.

Boost leaks can make fuel cut happen much sooner.

Overrunning your MAS usually makes the car go very lean.
