+1 Change does not come from the entrenched Republican and Democratic parties. I don't care if it's Obama or McCain claiming it. |

Re: I just want to take a quick poll...
If the independants get a certain percentage of the votes (4%?) then they will get funding in the next election. Right now none of them get a high enough percentage to do that.
Everyone is screaming about change, yes things in the economy need to change, but change can be either good or bad. Is Obama good change or bad change? That is something you have to decide. The current economy was not caused by the president, it was brought about because we are all cheap asses. We buy the cheapest shit possible and send all of our money to China, India and other poor countries. How can our economy be strong if we send all of our money overseas? It doesn't matter if it was a Democrat or Republican in the oval office, WE caused this. Who helped the most? NAFTA, that was Clinton's doing for you the young ones. I heavily agree that we need to get out of the 2 party system to bring REAL change about, but it doesn't have the momentum yet to do that. Obama is just SO far left, that he is scary. McCain is pretty far left for a republican, so he is pretty middle of the road. I loved Ron Paul, but it just isn't going to happen this year. The future is looking scary no matter who wins this one. |
Re: I just want to take a quick poll...
Did any of you catch Real Time tonight?
The republican on there was a complete retard. And Bill Maher really called him out on the point where this Wall Street Journal tried to tell Bill that "No one really knows what the Bush Doctrine is..." Bill then cut him off calling him a Cynic, He was trying to play off the fact that not everyone should know what the bush doctrine is and that hes trying to push votes for the less intelligent and poor people. I have this main thought about Palin then im probably (maybe) going to stop looking to bash her... (at least until the vice presidential debate). If a person running for the second highest position in America, Does not know the MAJOR policies that she will need to abide by and know, SHE SHOULD NOT BE UP FOR THE POSITION!!! All of you McCain supporters, How can you sit there and support this woman, I would like to think that the majority of you Currently 15 people know better then to support someone who doesnt know the policies that govern this country. I will proudly support Obama over McCain, Its better to support someone who is looking for change, Even if he doesnt follow through, it will make America want it more, and getting it in Americas heads is much better then brushing if off and not wanting to change anything. McCain and Palin Support everything that Bush has done, and i cant let that fly. Sorry NO WAY NOT AGAIN. It pisses me off that America can be so stupid. |

I will ask the question then. Why will Palin make a good VP or possible president?? |
Re: I just want to take a quick poll...
The bottom line is that this country needs CHANGE. If you like the way the economoy is, the way government is run currently, the things Bush does like starting a war based on false reports, etc.. then vote for McCain. If you're willing to take a chance and vote for a possible change in our future then go with Obama. I was born in '70. I know what the good times were like. Maybe many of you that were born in the mid to late '80's feel like things were always shitty but they weren't. It's gotten so bad that I'm glad i'm not young. In my early years, we didn't have to worry about someone coming into our school and shooting people up. Something is wrong out there.
McCain has voted along with Bush 100% of the time in 2008, 95% in 2007. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/0..._n_103718.html There's no guarantees no matter who you vote for. But I like the priorities of Obama vs. McCain. |
Re: I just want to take a quick poll...
God this thread is annoying. all the big media is against republicans (obama is more of a celebrity now then a candidate) and a magority the smaller media is rooting for the republicans. phuk it.

Re: I just want to take a quick poll...
It seems that too many peoples' minds are made up already, what's the point of arguing?
At first I was semi-ok with just McCain, but Palin was the dealbreaker for me. |
Re: I just want to take a quick poll...
I found this article pretty informational as I am just now finding time to research the candidates:
http://money.cnn.com/galleries/2008/...ues/index.html In regards to my vote it will likely go to Obama. I feel like we need to be done with this war and Palin just makes me uneasy. Even with McCain promising to lower the corporate tax rate, it just isn't enough to overcome my aforementioned concerns. |
Re: I just want to take a quick poll...
I typically think a little more republican then democrat, but I do not vote based on a party. I vote on who I think the best candidate is. Right now I'm pretty much undecided and can't wait to watch the debates in the future. I am not a guru when it comes to politics, but I personally think the presidential candidates are pretty good this year. On one side we have a very energetic man that seems to be extremely motivated to bring change to this country. On the other hand we have an extremely experienced man whose seen and done a lot for this country. I'm more excited about this election then I have been for any in the past.

Re: I just want to take a quick poll...
I give this country an "F"
I will not be voting because my faith in our political system has collapsed. |
Re: I just want to take a quick poll...
Well while I was at my friends house getting drunk last night, there were these 2 chicks just goin at it about McCain and Obama. Now I really hate politics because it's just not my thing, but I just drank my beer and watched the entertainment as long as I could. Basically, what I got out of it (and what I've gotten outa this thread) is that with McCain things will stay about the same, and with Obama things may get better or may get worse.
I don't know who I'm going to vote for yet, or if I'm even going to vote at all. People say every vote counts, and that scares the crap outa me. What if I vote for the wrong person?! |
Re: I just want to take a quick poll...
Politics seem to really ruffle up a few peoples feathers...
I like Palin. She says what she thinks. I say fuck Obama. Seems like just another fad. |
