Re: New computer

Just researched, I have a freakin 300watt power supply. I think that's classified under the "super gay" category.

Re: New computer

Crisis is the death of even a quad GPU setup at high resolution, but a 550-650 PSU from a name brand company will do fine. Its like a fuel system for your car, you can never have to much, but its always bad to not have enough. Antec, Thermaltake, silverstone, BFG tech, OCZ technology etc.

I think I am going to look for a 600-700 PSU. When it comes to the video cards, I see clock speed, and other numbers. I am basically looking for the highest numbers so to speak? Also making sure its at least ddr3?

Re: New computer

I just got a new computer from Dell. Its a XPS 430
It has a 750GB hard drive
2.5 GHz intel Quad Core processor
256 MB graphics card with HDMI
6 GB DDR3 Ram
Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit
Windows Media Center Remote
20" Ultrasharp Monitor
Its really nice i love it. Super Fast. the Windows Performance Rating is a 5.3.
I got it all for $780 through the dell outlet. It replaced the computer i had built and added onto over the past 8 years. but it was time for a new platform. And this XPS has great expanability. I was thinking about just upgrading the old PC but it would have taking just about as much if not much more to get what i have now.

Here is what I came up with:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102801

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341018

In this computer:

See any conflicts or clashing of any sort?

EDIT: Well apparently after getting off the phone I can't use ddr5 cards? grr or can I? Where does the limit end on what I can do? Almost all of them have gddr5.. I'm so confused..

I have never heard of a computer having an issue with a video card because the gddr memory type. Are you sure they didnt think you were talking about DDR5 RAM not working in your computer? I would understand DDR5 Ram not working in a computer built to handle DDR2 or 3 RAM. (especially because DDR5 RAM to my knowledge does not exist. :)
As long as you have a PCI-E slot, it should be fine.

I am getting a new lap top this week...I am going to get a macbook...(puts flame suit on)..seems to work for all my basic needs and more...plus I get apple care for free with my discount..I would love to build my own but I just don't have the mechanical brains for it. My old hard drive crashed on my 4 year old special edition hp pavilion, sucks losing all my memory but I look at it as a fresh start...
