today i spent about an hour at map getting things together and this is what i bought ..

wiseco pistons 8:3:1 cr 20+
eagle rods
acl race main and rod bearings
arp main studs
oem 2.0 crankshaft
balance shaft elimination kit
new aem wideband 02 sensor

was thinking about those wossner pistons but i haven't been able to find anything about them ...

before i picked up that stuff at map i went and got 850cc injectors and the snow performance kit methanol injection stage 2 ... thanks red-line nice 35r .

Nice list. Only comments I have are why did you need a new Crank? Also in my opinion you probably could have gotten away with stock main hardware and saved some money by not getting the ARP's. But to each their own, good luck man! The more fast purple 1g's around, the better :)

That turbo looks like it has blown seals. Exhaust wheel is wet...but if you need a t3 turbo manifold, I have one. Ramhorn style made by Punishment Racing.

i needed it cause i think mine is thrashed cause its knocking map sold me one for $ 280 +( its going to need a polish )
the arp's i thought would make my engine stronger and safer.yeah i could have saved some money on a few things but i have the worst luck when it comes to engines and i just dont want to cheap out on some parts and be broken down some where.

I hear ya. I'm still on stock main hardware so that's why I think you'd be ok too. But if it's worth it to you to get em, then more power to ya! Better safe then sorry isn't a bad mindset.

$280 for a 6 bolt 2.0 crank that needs a polish?? Are they getting hard to find or something? I got one from them about 2 and a half years ago for $75.

Re: 1991 talon 500 hp project

Yea damn...that's a hefty pricetag for a stock crank.

Dont you need to line hone when you use arp main studs?

Maybe, maybe not, depends on your exact block. ARP mains aren't needed for most builds, but they are probably cheaper than getting a new stock set of main bolts for the non-reusable ones on the 7-bolts and Evos. I would do some ARP L19 or A1 H11 headstuds before even doing rods/pistons. The heads usually start lifting before you even reach the limits of the stock rods/pistons in a 6-bolt motor. And normal ARP head studs are next to worthless over the stock bolts in DSMs/Evos.

Thats true, my last set of arp's stretched really bad and caused my cometic HG to split on cylinder number 1. I'm planning on getting the L19's this summer.

Re: 1991 talon 500 hp project

i have to upgrade my head studs ? i just got these. haven't even seen 300 mi or even 20 psi of boost .

Halon 02-10-2010 08:27 PM

Re: 1991 talon 500 hp project

If you plan on running the boost neccessary to make 500hp on DB's dyno, L19's would probably be a worthwhile investment.

Re: 1991 talon 500 hp project

There is a huge thread on dsmtalk talking about how shitty the standard ARP headstuds are. Stock 6bolt head "bolts" are actually stronger than the standard ARP's.

Re: 1991 talon 500 hp project

:angryfire: dammit:riped: anyone want to sell me some L19s
