even if you are faster, i'm sure it will be a "we are still stock weight, half the power, welcome to 2004..blah blah blah" speech. He's already called adam out, and MAP for having a 1,000whp 11 second car..lol

What's wrong with a 1000whp 11 second car, sounds like every supra out there ;)

Sure it sucks to have a 1000whp car and only go 11's, but there isn't much you can really do when the tranny can't even be man handle in to gear. Hope u guys get shit worked out. About HKS I've never liked one of their products ever. Maybe there exhaust, but that's about it. Their SSQ bov sounds like a really wet queef anyways lol.

I see no problems here.

I am sorry Chris, but I am with HKS on this one. You know the rules involving minimum price policy and made the decision to break it. Odds are MAP was singled out, as they are the largest of the people breaking the rules, and an example had to be made. It really does suck that they cut you off and didn't cut off anyone else, and really sucks that customers feel the need to play the PM war between shops, then share confidential information.

Please don't take it personally, as I do see your point, and in reality HK$ is just overpriced merchandise.

I would call the title "Why you should think twice when dealing with AWD Motorsports" or "Why you should think twice before asking for special treatment from vendors and then sharing the quoted prices between them..."

Good luck with the situation.

Re: Why you should think twice before buying HKS products

I wasn't aware of any minimum price policy as we are not a direct HKS dealer, and had I been given a warning, just one, I would have rectified the situation. Instead, without any warning, they simply cut me off and left my customers (that also happen to be HKS customers) hanging without any recourse. Completely unacceptable in my opinion.

Regardless, you hadnt actually ADVIRTISED a price below the minimum ADVIRTISED price correct? I remember reading in your first post about this that you were matching other shops pricing for the select customers wanting that turbo?

I see nothing wrong with what you did, as you did not put them up on your website/blog/window that you were selling them below MAP pricing.

Exactly, I just don't want to get into a MAP pricing debate, no matter which way you look at it HKS handled it very poorly in my opinion.

F hks and everything they sell. There are other better products out there that do a better job at a better price anyways.

I agree that the lack of warning was uncalled for.

i bet all those customers that were trying to buy that HKS turbo are glad they didn’t. Most running that turbo are hardly making more hp than a IX on e85.

I like MAP, they are close to home.

thanks chris for your hard work!

Re: Why you should think twice before buying HKS products

I'm really sorry to hear all of that Chris :( When I think parts, you're the first vendor that always comes up. Working with you guys, and Bill especially! Has always been a pleasure and I'm glad to support a local company here in the Twin Cities, hell I've spent around $500 just this week there.

I've never bought an HKS product but now I'm definitely steering clear of their crap. Also Mike at AWD will never see a penny of my money.

Wow. I think if he posted his facebook comments on forums a lot of people wouldn't buy from him. He sounds like a immature kid, I never knew mike was like that.

Wow, if anyone is following this take a look at what Sean @ Iveytuned just tried to do in the thread above lol.

Re: Why you should think twice before buying HKS products

heh. Well, the only thing I can figure is that they want to keep prices inflated by only have boutique resellers carry it. Carefully selecting who sells their product helps them avoid price fixing accusations. dunno, just sayin'

If there is a downward trend in HKS sales Ivey is going to feel the affects, thus why he is so adamantly defending them...

What did he do? I don't know these people so I'm confused.

And ha, just realized that I'm still living in Okinawa according to that site :)
