Re: What suv to get?
I also agree, I don't see the sense in getting a high HP gas guzzling SUV. SUV's already suck for gas milage in their normal trim.
I love my Envoy, and if I didn't need something that could tow, I would trade it back for my old 35mpg Saab in a heartbeat. Different strokes for different folks though. Good luck and let us know what you end up with! |
Re: What suv to get?
I hear what you guys are saying about being pointless. Definitely not baller status either. If that were the case I'd get a lexus, porchse, or BMW suv.
Basically, I just want a fun smaller suv to drive to dinners, weddings, etc. I just don't want something boring and a dime a dozen. For some reason my wife wont just get a rav-4 cheap economy suv/ car. So I'm trying to comprising with her. I get something fun/sporty and she gets her suv. |

We only have a few more payments on the mdx. So the plan is get it paid off and running a little better and sell. Then take that money and probably another chunk good chunk of money and finance 5-8k |
Re: What suv to get?

Re: What suv to get?

I was trying to exclude the BMW, Audi ect. Just cost the cost of repair. But willing to hear some input if tgey can be found in the price range with some reliability. |
Re: What suv to get?
A GM suv would be cheap to maintain, scratch those Hi-perf SUVs off the list if you want MPGs. Plus it would be too tempting to put your foot in its ass too often.
If you could swing an acadia, those things are pretty sweet but i have no clue of the MPG. |
Re: What suv to get?
Another couple options would he denali envoy or denali acadia. Not as badass HP wise as an srt-8 but I think they look pretty decent in the denali trim package, and probably decently priced. Also Saab 9-7 are decently priced and not as dime a dozen. Just throwing out a ouple other options. Again good luck.

Re: What suv to get?
Thanks guys were gonna start test driving some stuff this weekend hopefully.
Again though mpg really isn't an issue it will only be driven a few days a week. Maybe 160 miles. |

Test drive both and you will see they have totally different personalities. I could live with the SS for a daily driver (and it is on my short list for my next one) but the SRT8 I couldn't. It is great for a toy like he uses it, but then I would just get a sports car. The SRT8 will hand the SS it's ass though in a straight line or the twisties, more so than the 25hp difference would make you think. |
Re: What suv to get?

Scheides the goal is to make my wife happy, So then I can buy what I want. May be an Evo but maybe not. Ill always have my DSM so may look at a diffrent platform as a fun car. Who knows |
Re: What suv to get?
Buy a used Lexus RX, wife will love it, and so will your pocket. Or like someone stated, a used RDX.
|
Re: What suv to get?
Do the RDXs have the same issue with the trans and the MDX's? Also what years RDX should I look at?
Never been a huge fan of the looks of the lexus, but could consider I know they have great reliability. Also I really dig the looks of the new Tahoe. We seen a Tahoe XL at t-ball today sitting on some black 22s and it looked really nice. Usually you can throw a set of rims on something though and it will always look nice. |
Re: What suv to get?
02-04 Supercharged Nissan Xterra

Re: What suv to get?
