If you mix it up a bit and do some outside/park type events a few times and maybe come over to Maple Grove, I might be able to make it out for once. St Cloud is a bit of a drive for Tuesdays but a random differ from the standard place once in a while might bring out some new faces. It is good to see the interest and a lot of ideas. Good luck.

their is a majors on 394 across from the fuddrucker chris from map suggested...mnscc had their weds winter meets at that fudds the parking was great the lot is huge, across the lot is a Bacross, across the freeway is Majors and JJ's clubhouse (they have pool, darts, video games)..im up for any majors though....make it a 7:30 meet time or something would be great..I also like the park idea!..being outside ftw!

I won't be making it this week either way because I leave for Georgia again tomorrow. But my vote still stands for either a centrally located Majors, or the Champps if it has a patio.

I still vote for a DQ or something simple where the focus is hanging out by the cars, not trying to keep a group together at Champs or Majors. But seems that beer is the winning vote over everything else.

PS--why the hell would we meet at 6 or 7pm, I'll *never* be able to make it, and a ton of you never would either! The reason it's at 9pm is so that everyone can get whatever shit they need to get done and then head out for some fun.

I just ate at a Major's right off of 394 and Louisiana. It's pretty close to the old location, has outside seating and the food is decent. Wherever we decide I would like to at least be able to sit outside, that would be uber pimp!

Like peter said, the 9:00 time was chosen due to food and drink specials starting at that time. Not for any other reason.

"We" didn't chose, a couple of you chose. And obviouslly we are all finding some discrepencies with your choice. So now, "we" are choosing somewhere, and are trying to get it so we can meet in the middle, to try and maximize participation by hearing everyone out. A couple things I see that are things we are looking for are:
1) Ability to be outside: Whether this be a park, a parking lot, or a patio.
2) Food: Everyone wants to be able to get something to eat.
3) Alcohol: A very large majority of the regulars who have consistently atteneded, thus proving they will continue to attend, have said beer or other alcohol being available would be good.
4) Location A centralized location. (ie: Golden Valley, Crystal, Brooklyn Park)
5) No Age Limit: Somewhere that even those of us not of age will be able to come along.

I agree with the Majors at 394 and Louisianna. Not too far from the old location. Starting at 8 would also be nice to help offset and additional driving time incurred by anyone else.

My vote is for that. Again I won't be there this Tuesday though, as I will be in Georgia.

1) A patio is not my idea of being outside, I'd rather chill around the cars and be able to move around and mee tothers opposed to the regular groups staying together

2) Not everyone wants a $10-$20 tab every tues at majors

3) Beer and cars... if beer is such a priority just plan it for a bar.

4) Cental to the NW & N burbs peeps is what we have, but since other don't speak up on that fuck'm. :D

5) We will run into this with majors. As I recal, Even at Bennigans I couldn't be in various sections without ID that showed I was 21+. I think many of the patios for these places are considered part of the bar and fall under the same rules. May not be for majors, but maybe a call abotu a large group and their rules would be the way to go.

i won't be attending majors, drinking isn't what this event is about, it was about meeting up with car guys. Also i don't feel like driving across the cities to meet with everyone. GV was far enough for me.

Here is my thoughts on it...

I understand this is a car site, but I don't feel we are obligated to make our meet revolve 100% around our cars, and limit ourselves to a parking lot where we stand around our car. We typically all drive there, hang out in the parking lot until everyone shows up, we then go inside, eat talk and enjoy ourselves, then leave together and gather in the lot again for awhile, then go home. So we still have plenty of "standing around the cars" time. But we don't spend our entire 2 hour evening OOOhing and AWWWing over the same cars every week. That gets old.
Ordering a double cheeseburger meal at Culvers isn't going to cost that much less then an order of wings or quesadilla or a basket of frieds at Majors.
It is something that a majority of the regulars want. When you come to Applebees, 80% of us have a beer in front of us. You make it sound as if our world revolves around beer, or maybe we're getting hammered, but that's not it. Most have 1 or 2 beers over a 2 hour period. It's something we want accessible because a majority of the regulars want it. Might as well plan it somewhere that has it right?

I will give them a call and see what the rules are. If this is going to be an issue, then maybe we have to consider other options. I don't forsee a problem, but I've been wrong plenty of times before. I will call and ask.

My gf's never been carded at major's, when I was there at 11 pm with my buddy John getting 2 for 1's. I think the age doesn't matter, unless you are in the bar area.

Ha, everyone is taking ONE of the items, and pulling it out, and making it sound like it's the central focus. Might as well say "OH this shouldn't be about food, it's about cars". Let's have weekly meets at the race track since cars is the only reason we are going out, who cares about anything else.

When we are there tuesdays, we rarely even talk about cars much. I just like getting together with friends to BS about nothing over some food and cocktails. Some of us meet up at other events such as going downtown to bars etc, but not all of us can do that.

Brandon hit the nail on the head in his posts. I dont want to sit in the parking lot and talk about cars all night, just too boring.

I'm not trying to make it sound like I'm just knocking down any other options either. I think it's good we're getting input from lots of people. I don't like how people are diming out drinking, and trying to make it sound like the central focus, and trying to make it a negative thing. It's just one of the many things I and others would like to have, just as much as we want food, and we want a parking lot. It'd be good to find somewhere, that meets all of our criterea. And right now, a centralised sports bar, with a patio, seems like it'd meet most of the criteria. It'll have a big parking lot, it'll have food, it'll have a patio to enjoy the weather, it'll have booze, they aren't generally that expensive, or much more expensive than an applebee's, they generally let all ages in, fun atmosphere. It's just what I thought would work good for what most wanted. Aaron said it's a bit far away for him, so maybe we can find a lil more central location.

Yeah, they won't let underagers on the patio at Majors, plus parking is pretty tough there on any decent night. Although it is about 5 minutes from my shop.

I'd also be more interested if it was earlier as well, 9pm is kinda late since I'd probably just head over after work. And beer isn't much of a draw if we're doing the car thing, my car is already says "pull me over" in just driving around, so addign a few beers in my case is not smart. Let's just meet at Porky's so I can have some rings.

I've been showing up somewhat regularly lately with Mark, Craig and Aly. I also like the idea of a place like Majors or something similar that's somewhat centralized. I live in Mounds View, right off 694 and 35W, so I'm fine with driving prettymuch anywhere, as long as it isn't like, 30 miles away.

I think 8pm at the earliest is a good start time (9pm was fine by me too). Like Brandon said, I also want beer available if I choose (which I generally do) to have a few. It honestly seems like Applebees had the perfect setup for us. I like the idea of a sports bar, but I know for certain that people are going to begin bitching about how expensive it is blah blah blah blah blah. Its impossible to make everybody happy, the regulars just need to choose a place we like and start going there and if others show up, then great.

i think the idea should be to then set up two meets. Cause there seems to be the crew that wants to sit somewhere and have a beer or 3, and there is the group that wants to not worry about beer and chill around the cars.

So maybe we need a Tues & Thur night meet. Have Thurs night be at a DQ Grill & Chill location where people can hang outside, grab some ice cream during the up coming summer temps, and even get a cheap bite to eat. Tues night can be a Bees or Champs/majors night for those 21+.

There is also a TGIF in the 100/694 area that matches up with a hotel, so lots of parking if that spikes anyone.

I'm listening to plenty and think it's probably best to have 2 meets in different spots. A relaxing night at a TGIF, BEEs, Champs, or Majors and an outside night at a Park, a DQ, a Culvers, Porkys, ect ect.


But I never show up anyway so why would it matter wtf I think.
